Nepal Tea Collective Launches QR Code Labels

 Nepal Tea Collective, an award-winning public benefit corporation that distributes fresh organic teas worldwide, now includes QR codes on all product labels.  When scanned with smart phones, the QR codes offer information on the farm where the tea leaves were grown and when the particular bag of tea was plucked, packaged and shipped. The QR codes are part of Nepal Tea’s pledge to bring more traceability and transparency to the tea and herb industries. 

“The tea industry is ripe for disruption.  There are way too many middlemen creating little to no value at all.  They’re depressing the income for the farmers and degrading the quality and freshness of tea for consumers,” said Nishchal Banskota, Founder and CEO of Nepal Tea Collective.  “We believe consumers deserve to know exactly where their tea comes from and whether or not it’s single-origin.  We think of ourselves as a movement to reinvent the tea supply chain and make it more sustainable.”

Nepal Tea Collective currently offers a selection of organic black, green, oolong and white teas, as well as gift boxes and bundles.  All teas are packed at origin in biodegradable bamboo pouches, which are locally handmade.

My Thoughts:

I'll admit that I have a sweet tooth! When the holidays come around I am ready to dig into my favorite seasonal recipes. My Thoughts:

My Thoughts:

I am a huge tea lover. Nothing makes me feel better when I need to relax or have a healthy pick me up than a nice, rejuvenating cup of tea. Two of my favorite flavors are honey and vanilla. Seeing Twinings introduce a Camomile variety with both was such an exciting moment! Camomile is one of my favorite types of tea to sit back and relax with. The addition of sweet honey and savory vanilla makes this an herbal tea lovers dream.

When I usually make tea I add honey or a tiny sprinkle of sugar, but I did not need that with this flavor of Twinings. It had a great flavor that had a nice full body taste that was not too sweet, but just sweet enough to enjoy. I felt nice and calm as I sipped this through the day. It was the perfect mid day pick me up or a late night relaxation addition.

If you are a fan of tea, I highly recommend Twinings Camomile, Honey & Vanilla.

If you're looking for a great gift for your mom, The Spice Lab has some unique items that would make perfect gifts for any woman.  They can turn an occasional treat into an everyday obsession with their affordable line of  bath salts and delicious teas.  I was able to try out three different products in various scents and flavors and they have me totally addicted.

The first thing you'll notice about these bath salts is their cute bottle. They are shaped almost like old-fashioned milk bottles. Of course, what's inside is even better. Each batch comes straight from the Himalayas and is a completely  natural way to enjoy your bath time. The salts dissolve quickly in the hot water, leaving you with an invigorating and relaxing atmosphere. Soaking in warm water with these salts will loosen up those tight muscles and is wonderful, holistic option for people with chronic pain.  It's a great way to start the day or to get a second wind. It you don't have time for a full bath, it also makes a great foot soak, especially for tired and achy feet. I tried out both the plain salts and the Pina Colada Green Tea and they were both an indulging treat.

I really enjoyed their tea as well. I am a big tea drinker, but new to loose leaf tea. You will need a tea strainer to enjoy these teas,but it's well worth the investment. I tested out the Georgia Peach variety.  It was unique and refreshing flavor that you can enjoy iced or hot. This also comes in a classy glass jar, and even has a little spoon to help portion it out. My Thoughts

I love tea. I could drink tea all day, but I also have to get my water in (I suppose). I was excited to give these teas from Numi a try. I had the holiday sampler pack and fell in love with many of the teas. I like the bold flavors of these. They are very flavorful, as well, they always smell very good.

I tried three of the four flavors above. My favorite was Chocolate Pu-erh, of course. Chocolate and tea, yes please. This wasn't strong in the chocolate flavor, but it was there. It also had a nice smell of chocolate when I sipped. It wasn't an overly sweet tea, so depending on how you like your tea, you might need to add your sweetener of choice. I found myself calling this my dessert tea in the evenings. I've been trying to watch my weight after the holidays and this tea can usually satisfy my sweet tooth.

The next tea I tried was Cardamom Pu-erh. I did like this one, but it was a but too bold for me, so I didn't find myself grabbing it as much. This one I usually needed to add a little creamer to in order to enjoy, but I really like the way this one smelled.

The third one I tried was Ginger Pu-erh. I liked this one. I could taste the ginger and another taste I can't figure out, but it was a good mix. I was able to drink this one with just adding a little stevia. The ginger in this one helped when I had an upset stomach, but it was also enjoyable in the afternoon when I needed something warm. This one smelled really good, like the others.

My Thoughts

I'm a big tea lover and was excited to give this Pique tea a try. I could drink tea all day and this tea is kind of like the convenient tea. It comes in a powder form and you add to the mug before adding hot water. For me, I use my Keurig machine.

I found the tea to be flavorful. It did taste just slightly different than when I brew tea from a tea bag, but it wasn't too different that I didn't want to drink it. I liked how if in a hurry, I had my tea right away, added some stevia, and was ready to enjoy my cup.

Each flavor was good. I got to try a Jasmine Green, Earl Gray, and English Breakfast. English Breakfast in both Pique and in regular tea, is my favorite. I drink it each morning instead of coffee. These comes in individual packets. You could easily keep the packets in your purse for work or when traveling. These are also organic, so that was a big plus for me too.

I think the idea behind Pique is great and any tea lover will enjoy it.
