Freeze‑dried fruit is ideal for:

  • School lunches

  • On‑the‑go snacking

  • Hiking and outdoor activities

  • Yogurt, cereal, & smoothies

My Unboxing Experience

For the Fourth of July, I unboxed the Western Grill Bundle, and it felt like opening a treasure chest of flavor. The bundle includes six of their customer‑favorite seasonings and rubs: Cajun Campfire Seasoning, Original Burger Seasoning, Garlic Pepper Rub, Rib Rub, Alaskan Salmon Seasoning, and Zesty Western Gourmet Burger Seasoning.

I was excited to try them out at our holiday barbecue. Each blend smelled incredible right out of the bottle, and the variety meant we could season everything from burgers to ribs to fish without repeating a single flavor profile. Check out the video below to watch the full unboxing and see my first impressions.

My Full Review

We put every seasoning to the test at our Fourth of July cookout, and each one brought something special to the table.

  • Cajun Campfire Seasoning — I don't do spicy, but my stepfather used this on chicken and grilled veggies, and it added the perfect bold, smoky kick. Not too spicy, just enough heat to make everything pop.

  • Original Burger Seasoning — This one became an instant favorite. It made our burgers juicy, savory, and perfectly seasoned without overpowering the meat.

  • Garlic Pepper Rub — We tried this on steaks, and it gave them that classic steakhouse flavor — garlicky, peppery, and delicious.

  • Rib Rub — We used this on a rack of ribs, and it delivered exactly what you want: deep, rich, championship‑style flavor that caramelized beautifully on the grill.

  • Alaskan Salmon Seasoning — This was perfect on fresh fish. It added brightness and depth without masking the natural flavor.

  • Zesty Western Gourmet Burger Seasoning — We used this on a second batch of burgers, and it gave them a tangy, bold twist that everyone loved.

Every seasoning was easy to use, packed with flavor, and versatile enough to work on multiple dishes. The bundle made our Fourth of July spread taste like a full‑blown cookout feast. No guesswork, no complicated recipes, just great seasoning doing its job.

Final Thoughts

Hi Mountain Seasonings made our Fourth of July meal unforgettable, and their Western Grill Bundle is perfect for any summer barbecue. Whether you’re grilling for a crowd or just cooking for your family, these blends make it easy to serve food that tastes amazing. Stock up before Labor Day so you’re ready for every cookout, camping trip, and backyard dinner coming your way.

Uncle Butch’s Fudge: Handmade Spring Flavors Perfect for Easter and Mother’s Day

There are some treats that just feel like spring, and Uncle Butch’s artisan fudge is one of them. My family enjoyed it as part of our Easter celebration this year, and it was such a hit that we’re already planning to order more for Mother’s Day. This is small‑batch, handmade fudge, each piece creamy, rich, and crafted with real ingredients you can taste in every bite.

We received two full pounds of fudge, divided into four spring‑inspired flavors. In the video below, you’ll see me, my son Frankie, and my stepfather Fernando sampling each one. Every flavor was delicious, but the coconut ended up being my personal favorite. The real pieces of coconut put it over the top. Here’s a closer look at each flavor:

🍫 Peanut Butter Chocolate

A classic combo done right. The peanut butter is smooth and rich without being overwhelming, and the chocolate balances it perfectly. It tastes like the upgraded, grown‑up version of your favorite childhood candy, each bite creamy, nostalgic, and impossible to stop nibbling.

🍊 Orange Cream

This one tastes like a creamsicle in fudge form. Light, bright, and silky, with that perfect citrus‑vanilla blend. It’s refreshing without losing that decadent fudge texture. A great choice if you like something sweet but not too heavy.

🍓 Strawberry Cheesecake

Sweet, fruity, and wonderfully creamy. The strawberry flavor tastes real. not artificial, and the cheesecake swirl gives it that little extra richness. It’s like getting dessert inside your dessert.

🥥 Coconut Cream Pie

My personal favorite. This one is unbelievably smooth with a mellow coconut flavor, and the real coconut pieces give it the perfect texture. It tastes exactly like a slice of coconut cream pie, but even more indulgent.

🎥 Our Taste Test Video

We had so much fun filming our taste test. Frankie had strong opinions, and Fernando was fully committed to giving each flavor a fair chance. You’ll see plenty of reactions, a little teasing, and a whole lot of appreciation for good fudge. It’s always more fun to try treats together, and this box made our Easter extra special.

Why Uncle Butch’s Fudge Makes the Perfect Mother’s Day Gift

If you’re looking for something thoughtful, delicious, and handmade, this is it. Uncle Butch’s offers dozens of flavors, all crafted with care, and they even offer free shipping on orders over $30. Whether you’re shopping for your mom, grandmother, mother‑in‑law, or treating yourself (which is always allowed), this fudge is a guaranteed hit.

The Dos and Don'ts of Introducing Solid Foods to Your Infant

During the first months, the baby enjoys the taste of the mother's milk. If there are no obstacles to breastfeeding, it is recommended to maintain exclusive breastfeeding until the baby is six months old and continue breastfeeding while introducing solid meals. If breastfeeding is not possible, the parents should replace it with the baby formula, for example, the best organic hypoallergenic formula or another formula suitable for their little one.

What to Do

Serve vegetables first. If your baby accepts the delicate taste of veggies at the very beginning, it will positively affect their eating habits in the future. Typically, if vegetables are i
ntroduced to an infant’s diet first, the child will eat more vegetables later in life than children who start with fruit.

Introduce simple flavors first. It is recommended to start supplementing the diet with simple, single-ingredient meals. Firstly, typical complementary foods, such as vegetables, porridge, gruel, and fruit, should be introduced. Gradual thickening of milk or baby formula by adding gruels and cereal porridges is a practical way to familiarize the baby with new consistencies.

Mix the flavors. An infant accustomed to variety early on will accept new flavors more easily in the following months. Once you’ve introduced two different products to your baby and ensured their body can digest them, try mixing them in one meal. A varied menu also promotes the nutritional value of the diet.

What Not to Do

Don’t underestimate delicate flavors. Do not add salt, sweeten, or season your meals. Providing unsweetened and unsalted meals is crucial because of the long-term impact on the child's health and the development of appropriate eating habits later in life.

Don’t overfeed your baby. Introduce new foods gradually, starting with around 1-2 teaspoons. In the first year of life, breastfeeding or formula feeding remains the most essential part of nutrition. Initially, it's just about trying and getting used to the new tastes and textures.

Don't get discouraged after the first few tries. The situation when an infant doesn’t accept a new taste does not mean you should give up. Sometimes, it takes many tries, even 10-15, to fully accept a new taste. It is also not worth giving up when the baby rejects the new consistency. Vomiting reactions and spitting out are signs of adaptation, not difficulties with swallowing. In this way, the baby copes with throwing pieces of food from the mouth that they cannot yet chew for swallowing.

Remember: the first thousand days of a baby’s life are a vital period of their development. It is the parent who decides WHAT the baby will eat, WHEN, and HOW the food will be served. The child decides IF they will eat and HOW MUCH they will eat.

Moms, This May Be Some Plant-Based Meat That Your Kids Would Eat

Many moms struggle to juggle their work and home life to prepare nutritious meals for their kids. Together with the COVID-19 pandemic impacting women working from home, this lifestyle has led to increased stress, and with studies showing that 4 out of 5 moms prefer remote work, it doesn’t seem like this trend will be over any time soon.

The Dangers Of Fast Food

While fast food may be a convenient option for busy moms, it is essential to recognize its negative impact on children's health.

Kids who eat a diet high in fast food are more likely to be overweight or obese and are at increased risk of developing chronic diseases later in life. In addition, fast food is often high in sodium, which contributes to high blood pressure and increases the risk of heart disease.

Long-Lasting Effects of Obesity

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the prevalence of obesity among children in the United States has more than tripled over the past three decades.

The consequences of childhood obesity are severe and have a long-term impact on children's health, increasing the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, among others.

How Food Innovators Changed The Lives Of Busy Moms

Food innovators have played a key role in meeting the demand for healthier food options for kids, constantly seeking ways to provide healthy and tasty options for children and parents.

Plant-based options are produced using sustainable farming practices and offer health benefits other than traditional animal-based products, thanks to their well-developed nutritional panel.

“By implementing plant-based meals and snacks, reducing the consumption of heavy meats and dairy products, which are highly consumed by the standard American diet, our kids will live a better life, reducing the risk of obesity and poor mental health.”

– Marc Elkman, Co-Founder of Mighty Yum™

Although Mighty Yum™ is created with 100% plant-based ingredients, it doesn’t sacrifice the flavorful goodness of nostalgic food. You would never know this product is plant-based from the look and taste! Choose your favorite turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, or pepperoni pizza, full of tasty flavors and textures.

How Busy Moms Provide Healthy Food Options To Their Children

Here are some things you need to ensure your children are getting the nourishment they need:

Fresh fruits and vegetables

These can be eaten as snacks or incorporated into meals and are rich in nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Whole grains

Choose whole-grain bread, pasta, and rice instead of refined grains, which are lower in nutrients.

Legumes

Beans, lentils, and chickpeas are good sources of protein, fiber, and other nutrients and can be incorporated into various dishes.

Plant-based milk alternatives

Almond milk, soy milk, and oat milk are good options for children who are lactose intolerant or have allergies to dairy.

Plant-based meat alternatives

These are made from beans, lentils, tofu, and other plant-based proteins and are a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional meat products.

What You Can Do For Your Kid To Become Healthier Today

There are several things you can do today to help your child become healthier, including:

Grab Mighty Yum™

Mighty Yum™ is created with 100% plant-based ingredients and packs tremendous flavor combined with non-GMO ingredients, satisfying that nostalgic taste everyone loves.

Encourage healthy eating habits

Develop healthy habits by offering nutritious foods and limiting unhealthy snacks and sugary drinks.

Promote physical activity

Encourage your children to be active by providing opportunities to engage in physical activity, such as walking, biking, or playing sports.

Ensure adequate sleep

Help your children get the recommended amount of sleep by establishing a regular bedtime routine and creating a sleep-friendly environment.

Practice good hygiene

Teach their children to wash their hands regularly, cover their mouths and noses when sneezing or coughing, and brush their teeth properly.

Moms can choose from a range of plant-based snacks, such as bars, crackers, and cookies, and feel good about giving their child a snack that is both tasty and nutritious. They are made from whole, minimally processed ingredients and provide a variety of nutrients, including protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals.

Ready To Pivot To A Better Class Of Vegan Salad Dressings, Mayo & Butter?

Fast-Growing Plant Perfect Brand From Pivotal Foods Winning Over Vegan &
Mainstream Consumers Alike With Popular Lines Of Delectably Nutritious Dairy-Free Products Now Available Nationwide

For years, countless people following a vegan diet for moral or dietary reasons have been asking the same rhetorical question: why isn’t there a dairy-free brand that actually frees us from our lifelong craving for dairy?

Happily, one company decided to answer that question by developing a line of dairy-free products so authentic in flavor and texture that even non-vegans are singing their praises.

Introducing Pivotal Foods (www.pivotalfoods.com) and its signature Plant Perfect brand, creators of a rapidly-growing line of dressings, mayo and – soon – butter that seamlessly blend mouth-watering flavor, authentic texture and wholesome nutrition in each and every bottle and jar.

Treating consumers to a literal and figurative taste of the future, Pivotal Foods is currently experiencing its most significant period of growth to date since the introduction of Plant Perfect Vegan Mayo in 2020. Indeed, largely due to word of mouth rather than the sort of massive marketing blitz usually needed to break into the crowded vegan marketplace, Pivotal Foods has already expanded its retail presence to over 2500 mainstream and health food stores around the country – most recently adding 1200 Safeway stores in six regions around the country.

Today, consumers can find Plant Perfect vegan salad dressings and mayo in such chains as Whole Foods, Sprouts, Raley’s, Lucky, and Safeway as well as on Amazon.com.. For a complete list of store locations, please visit www.eatplantperfect.com/find-us.

The Name Says It  All

Living up to its name, Plant Perfect products represent a perfect fusion of great taste and important nutrition, utilizing wholesome ingredients sure to please even the most discerning vegan and non-vegan palates. The brand’s growing family of products include six distinct salad dressings that are all vegan, gluten-free, cholesterol-free, non-GMO, EDTA-free (EDTA is a chemical that is added to certain foods and beverages to help them keep their color and flavor), palm oil-free and Certified Kosher.

Now Plant-Based Certified, Plant Perfect dressings are available in 8-ounce bottles in these delectable flavors:

  • Ranch
  • Green Goddess
  • Creamy Italian
  • Caesar
  • Chipotle Ranch
  • Cilantro Lime

Like Plant Perfect’s Vegan Mayo, the brand’s salad dressings are 12-month shelf stable. Plant Perfect salad dressings can be found on the dry goods shelf next to conventional dressings.

 Vegan Mayo Comes Of Age

Representing a deliciously nutritious dairy-free version of a classic condiment, Plant Perfect’s Vegan Mayo is every bit as tasty, rich, versatile and satisfying as its traditional counterpart. Like the brand’s salad dressings, Plant Perfect Mayo is all vegan, gluten-free, cholesterol-free, non-GMO, EDTA-free, palm oil-free and Certified Kosher.

Offered in 12-ounce bottles, Plant Perfect Vegan Mayo enhances any dish and represents an ideal alternative to traditional mayonnaise when preparing meals, snacks and desserts (great news for vegan or health-conscious home cooks and bakers during the holiday season!).

Next on the menu for Pivotal Foods will be Plant Perfect Vegan Butter, slated to be introduced next year. Performing just like dairy European butter in every way - but without the cows! – the new line will initially consist of two irresistibly satisfying varieties: Original and Buttery.

A Pivotal Time In The Vegan Food Industry

Committed to developing high quality vegan food products that taste great, are healthy and minimize the environmental impact on the planet, Pivotal Foods is not only attracting a diverse range of new retail and foodservice partners, but is winning over both committed vegans as well as mainstream consumers ready to incorporate healthier dairy-free products into their diet so long as they don’t have to sacrifice flavor in the process.

Commenting on his company’s fast-track expansion, Pivotal Foods’ CEO Mark Garrison said, “Every Plant Perfect item is developed with one overriding goal in mind – to create the most nutritious and delicious vegan alternative product possible. Giving up dairy for ethical or dietary reasons is never easy, so we went to great lengths to make sure our Plant Perfect Mayo, Salad Dressings and Butter not only live up to, but exceed, customer expectations. We’re heartened by the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received from full-time and part-time vegans alike and look forward to introducing many more vegan products over the years to come.”

Nepal Tea Collective Launches QR Code Labels

Nepal Tea Collective, an award-winning public benefit corporation that distributes fresh organic teas worldwide, now includes QR codes on all product labels.  When scanned with smart phones, the QR codes offer information on the farm where the tea leaves were grown and when the particular bag of tea was plucked, packaged and shipped. The QR codes are part of Nepal Tea’s pledge to bring more traceability and transparency to the tea and herb industries.

“The tea industry is ripe for disruption.  There are way too many middlemen creating little to no value at all.  They’re depressing the income for the farmers and degrading the quality and freshness of tea for consumers,” said Nishchal Banskota, Founder and CEO of Nepal Tea Collective.  “We believe consumers deserve to know exactly where their tea comes from and whether or not it’s single-origin.  We think of ourselves as a movement to reinvent the tea supply chain and make it more sustainable.”

“We’ve taken the further step of becoming a public benefit corporation (PBC) to really challenge the status quo and make a sustainable business with a core mission to do good for the tea farmers,” continued Banskota.  “Becoming a PBC in fact mandates us to our public benefit purpose with legislative reporting requirements which enforce an enhanced level of accountability and transparency.  We really want to challenge ourselves to do what is right for the farmers and the industry.”

Nepal Tea Collective currently offers a selection of organic black, green, oolong and white teas, as well as gift boxes and bundles.  All teas are packed at origin in biodegradable bamboo pouches, which are locally handmade.

About Nepal Tea Collective

Nepal Tea Collective is a public benefit corporation that distributes fresh teas, organically grown and packed at origin in Nepal, throughout the United States and worldwide.  Teas are from four different small-holder farms in Nepal.  Nepal Tea Collective aims to bridge the gap between tea farmers and customers by moving past the middlemen and working directly with producers.  Nepal Tea Collective makes the tea farm to table supply chain traceable and transparent.  Each package is labeled with a QR code that can be scanned for info about where, how and when the tea was produced.  For more information please visit https://nepalteacollective.com/ Follow Nepal Tea on Facebook @nepalteacollective.

Introducing solid foods to your baby

Introducing solids to your infant is a significant milestone. There are so many flavors to discover and experience, and starting solids is the first step. In order to grow and develop, babies need solid food to get quality nutrients. Essential nutrients include iron, zinc, and others. Introducing solids is also an important part of helping infants learn to eat, allowing them to experience new tastes and textures. This helps develop their jaw and teeth, as well as other skills that they'll need later to develop their language.

When should I start introducing solids?

It is safe to say that most babies are ready for solid foods between 4 and 6 months, but your baby's development is a major factor to consider when deciding when it is time to move from formula to a more varied diet.

No matter how eager you are to start the solids, there are plenty of reasons why starting a baby on solids too soon may not be a good idea.

When your baby is ready for solids, they'll give you clear signals. For example:

  • Head control - Your baby needs to have good head control, he/she has to be able to hold his/her head upright and in a steady position.

  • Significant weight gain - Your baby has to have gained a lot of weight, which means they have to have doubled their birth weight.

  • Curiosity - In some cases, your baby may start eyeing or reaching for your food, or may even open their mouth if you offer them a spoonful.

  • Extrusion reflexes disappear - Solids should be introduced when they are able to move food to the back of their mouth and swallow it, rather than pushing food out of their mouth with their tongue.

Which are the best baby foods to start with?

It used to be standard for parents to give their baby cereal as a first food, but this is no longer the case. You can start your baby on any pureed food with one ingredient.

Here are some options:

  • Pureed peaches

  • Pureed potato

  • Mashed avocado

  • Mashed banana

  • Pureed meats

Foods not recommended to children under 4 years old (choking hazard):

  • Popcorn

  • Nuts and seeds

  • Sticky foods (peanut butter)

  • Whole grapes and cherry tomatoes

  • Hard fruits and vegetables

  • Candy

Food allergies

In case of food allergies, introducing new foods to a baby gradually, one at a time is crucial.

If not, parents may have difficulty tying an allergy to a specific food. When your baby consumes three new foods within the course of a day and develops an allergic reaction, you won't know which of the foods triggered it.

There are more than 160 allergenic foods, some of which are more allergenic than others. Approximately 90% of the time, the following eight foods or groups of foods are responsible for allergic reactions.

  • Wheat

  • Soy

  • Eggs

  • Peanuts

  • Cow’s milk

  • Fish

  • Shellfish

  • Tree nuts

You should consult your baby's doctor if you think your baby has a food allergy, such as diarrhea, rash, or vomiting.

Final thoughts

A positive feeding relationship during childhood can have a lifetime of benefits. It is your child's responsibility to decide whether and how much they eat, so wait for them to pay attention to each spoonful of food before feeding them. Allow your baby to touch the food in the dish and on the spoon. It sounds messy, but your little one wants to know what it is that he/she is about to eat.

Introducing solids may be stressful, but it is another milestone in your baby's development. It's supposed to be a happy, nurturing time. You'll be on your way to enjoying family mealtimes while experimenting with your child.
