Uncle Butch’s Fudge: Handmade Spring Flavors Perfect for Easter and Mother’s Day

There are some treats that just feel like spring, and Uncle Butch’s artisan fudge is one of them. My family enjoyed it as part of our Easter celebration this year, and it was such a hit that we’re already planning to order more for Mother’s Day. This is small‑batch, handmade fudge, each piece creamy, rich, and crafted with real ingredients you can taste in every bite.

We received two full pounds of fudge, divided into four spring‑inspired flavors. In the video below, you’ll see me, my son Frankie, and my stepfather Fernando sampling each one. Every flavor was delicious, but the coconut ended up being my personal favorite. The real pieces of coconut put it over the top. Here’s a closer look at each flavor:

🍫 Peanut Butter Chocolate

A classic combo done right. The peanut butter is smooth and rich without being overwhelming, and the chocolate balances it perfectly. It tastes like the upgraded, grown‑up version of your favorite childhood candy, each bite creamy, nostalgic, and impossible to stop nibbling.

🍊 Orange Cream

This one tastes like a creamsicle in fudge form. Light, bright, and silky, with that perfect citrus‑vanilla blend. It’s refreshing without losing that decadent fudge texture. A great choice if you like something sweet but not too heavy.

🍓 Strawberry Cheesecake

Sweet, fruity, and wonderfully creamy. The strawberry flavor tastes real. not artificial, and the cheesecake swirl gives it that little extra richness. It’s like getting dessert inside your dessert.

🥥 Coconut Cream Pie

My personal favorite. This one is unbelievably smooth with a mellow coconut flavor, and the real coconut pieces give it the perfect texture. It tastes exactly like a slice of coconut cream pie, but even more indulgent.

🎥 Our Taste Test Video

We had so much fun filming our taste test. Frankie had strong opinions, and Fernando was fully committed to giving each flavor a fair chance. You’ll see plenty of reactions, a little teasing, and a whole lot of appreciation for good fudge. It’s always more fun to try treats together, and this box made our Easter extra special.

Why Uncle Butch’s Fudge Makes the Perfect Mother’s Day Gift

If you’re looking for something thoughtful, delicious, and handmade, this is it. Uncle Butch’s offers dozens of flavors, all crafted with care, and they even offer free shipping on orders over $30. Whether you’re shopping for your mom, grandmother, mother‑in‑law, or treating yourself (which is always allowed), this fudge is a guaranteed hit.

Anibikes: Get outside and ride a unicorn! @anibikes #anibikes #outdoorseveryday #unicornswag

Kids have wild imaginations. They can visualize themselves as cowboys, as knights, or as princesses that can save themselves from the villains. There are a million possibilities when it comes to pretend play, but one thing that seems universal is the need for a valiant steed. For hundreds of years, children have played with toy horses, whether it was a stick with carved into a horse's head, a pogo stick, or a rocking horse in the nursery. Now, it's time to get ready for the next step in the horse-play evolution.

Anibikes is revolutionizing imaginative play with their  soft, foam animal heads. Children can choose between both horses and unicorns. These adorable caricatures can be easily mounted to most  riding equipment including bikes, trikes, scooters, or pogo sticks. You can choose from a variety of beautiful designs, or if you're feeling crafty, you can paint your horse or unicorn's head yourself using latex paint. Check out this fun video for cool tips on how to paint your Anibikes:

In addition to outdoor fun, Anibikes offers even more excitement for app-enabled children. The app provides children with a virtual pet that they can care for and which even tracks how much they ride their bike. They accomplish this by embedding an optional accelerometer in the toy which allows children to earn “health points” for each minute they ride their Anibike. These points keep their pet healthy, and encourages them to spend more time playing outside.

Right now, Anibikes are still in the Kickstarter stage. To get the project off the ground, they need to manufacturer at least 1000 toys, and they will need your help to make that happen.  These exciting new toys are not available in stores yet, so contributing to the Kickstarter is the only way to get your hands on one first.

Anibikes are designed for children between the ages of 4-10. With each donation of $35 or more, contributors will receive the following:

• One virtual pet. Horse or unicorn; app-enabled or not. You choose!
• Mounting arms
• Mounting plate, 2 screws, 2 washers
• (Optional) Paint kit with 0.3oz of 8 colors (white, yellow, orange, red, blue, green, purple, black)
• Hours of fun

With you small contribution, you'll be getting a fun and unique toy your kids will be sure to love. Plus, you have the honor of being one of the first on your block to show it off. You could be the start of the next trend in imaginative play. So, what are you waiting for? Check out Anibikes today and help your child's imagination soar to new heights.

Easter Gift Guide - Crate Creature

For boys on Easter, the new Crate Creatures Surprise! (Ages: 4+, MSRP: $39.99) will be a hit. Use the crowbar to break your mystery creature out of their crate to unlock their special creature feature.

Watch your Creature vibrate, scream and eyes glow when you pull his tongue

My Thoughts

My daughter doesn't believe in gender roles when it comes to toys. Even though it's considered a "boy's" toy, she has been pleading for a Crate Creature for months.  Once you see everything this guy can do, you'll understand why.  The Crate Creature is an awesome toy. It can do so many things.  Even before you have it out of the package, it's fun.  You can test him out by pulling his tongue and he roars at you.  When it's time to release him, kids can unlock the crate and remove the chain themselves with the secret key.

Once he's set free, the crate creature is even more fun. His eyes light up, he roars, growls, snorts, laughs, and farts. He makes a different noise whenever you move him. Kids can also record their voice and the crate creature will repeat everything they say in a deeper, monster-ish voice.  Once kids are done playing, just switch him off and put him back in his cage for safe keeping. It's compact and won't take up too much room in the toy chest.

My daughter and her younger brother both loved the crate creature. They sit and play with him for hours. This is a really fun choice for Easter Baskets this year. They are fun, affordable, and batteries are included. Grab one for yourself in stores nationwide or online at Amazon.

Easter Gift Guide - Slammers Snacks

Spring has sprung, and with it comes the opportunity to clean out the clutter in your lunchbox and refuel with the right nutrition to power through homework and after-school sports.

Packed with organic, vegetables, and superfoods, Slammers Snacks by Kids Gourmet are a fun, easily digestible alternative to sugary snacks, bars, and chips normally geared towards kids.  Slammers come in seven different fruity flavors that introduce kids to mango, acai, yumberry, kiwi, and pomegranate.  Not only do Slammers taste great, but they’re a good source of essential vitamins and minerals to keep kids in tip-top shape.

For additional kid-approved lunch packing tips, I would love to put you in touch with Sarah Remmer. Sarah is a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist with a specialty in babies, toddlers and kids. Sarah's passion is teaching parents how to raise healthy, happy and adventurous eaters right from day one.

My Thoughts

Spring is the perfect time to think about health snacks.  Slammers Snacks are the perfect alternative to candy in Easter Baskets! These tasty pouches are loaded  with only good things, like fruits, vegetables, and  ancient grains and come in a variety of tasty flavors. They taste great and they're good for you! Plus, they are made with organic ingredients! Here is a little about each one.

Amped This is one of our favorites so far. It combines apples, strawberries, cherries, and Chia. The sweet fruits disguise the healthy Chia that I would never get my younger kids to eat normally.  Some of the other flavors we enjoy include:

Pomegranate Grape Crush - As the name suggests, this super-fruit smoothie blends pomegranates and grapes, but there is also a healthy portion of apples and bananas. Each pouch is a full serving of fruit.

Awesome - This one blends bananas, apples, blueberries, strawberries, beets, acai, and amaranth. Again, the fruits cover up the flavors that most young children may be opposed to. This way they get some veggies too!

Watermelon Kiwi Burst - This one is made with apples, bananas, kiwi, and watermelon, and is a sweet treat kids are sure to enjoy.

Chill'n - Finally, get a healthy dose of apples, bananas, blueberries, butternut squash, greek yogurt, and yumberry. The yogurt blend make this one my teen daughter's favorite.

Slammers come in fun pouches that are perfect to store in your lunch box so you always have them when you're on the go. We tried a variety of flavors, and they were a huge hit. My kids range in age from six to seventeen and they all enjoyed the Slammers Snacks. For the little ones, it's fun to squeeze. The older kids love the sporty designs. This lets them enjoy them without being embarrassed by "babyish" characters. Whether you hand them out during spring and summer activities or stick them in lunch bags, Slammers Snacks are the perfect treat for any occasion.

My Thoughts

Here Comes Peter Cottontail originally aired in 1971, which is before I was even born. My mom used to watch it with her sister back then. Later, in the late 80s, I enjoyed it as well. Now I can share it with my own children anytime I want with the new DVD. In this tale, Peter Cottontail wants to be the Easter Bunny. Everyone in April Valley is sure he'll get the job, until Irontail shows up. This evil bunny wants the job too, but if he gets it, he could ruin Easter forever.

This is such a great classic film. I'm really excited that I was able to share it with my own children. We now have three generations who have made this an Easter tradition. In addition to the classics version, you also get Peter Cottontail: The Movie for double the Easter fun. To be sure to check out this wonderful DVD for your own family and don't forget about the Veggie Tales movies as well!

Easter Gifts for Teens and Tweens from Goody

It's easy to find Easter gifts for the little kids. The older ones present a little more of a challenge. My teen daughter doesn't want candy or toys, but she does love beauty products and hair accessories. In this area, Goody has you covered.  They have a wide range of accessories that girls of all ages will love. Best of all, you can find them in stores nationwide like Kmart, Target, and CVS. So even if you waited until the last minute, you can still grab some of these awesome products.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Goody Clean Radiance Brush - This brush removes knots from hair like magic. It doesn't matter if your hair is curly or straight, thick or thin. This brush can handle anything, and the thick sturdy handle is going to last for years to come. The cooper bristles add extra shine to your  hair.

Elastics- You can never have too many of these! For my girls, they are great for the bottom on their braids because they hold even fine hair in place.

Comb & Lift - These cute little combs are perfect for teasing and styling your hair. On the other end is a pick to help add some thickness.

Simple Style Sets- My teen daughter was really thrilled with these. They enable you to create styles like the Bubble Pony Tail, Fishtails, and Vintage Twists in three simple steps. They come in colors that match your natural hair color so the pieces blend in. They are not only perfect for basket stuffers, they are also a great idea for the upcoming prom season.

Charmed Bobbies- These adorable bobby pins add a touch of glam to any ensemble. They also offer cute bobby pin slides with pearls.

Hair Tie Bracelets- These are such great idea! I always worry about my girls putting hair ties on their arms and cutting off their circulation. With these trendy bracelets, they can have a hair tie with them at all times, right on a pretty bangle bracelet.

Scrunchies- These never go out of style and every girl can always use a few  more. The pretty spring collection is perfect for Easter baskets.

These are only a few examples of the adorable products you can use to make Easter fun for your teens. To learn more about these products and all the trendy styles available at Goody, be sure to visit their website or follow them on social media.
