Our Thoughts

I was interested in this book because I have an older teen who is just finding their way along the Wiccan/Pagan path. They've been interested in learning more but my Grimoire is more in depth than I think they need at the moment. The Complete Grimoire is perfect for my older teen. They've been able to read the book cover to cover and have really come to understand more about Wicca. 

I think that this book is best for someone just starting out or who wants a complete Grimoire without having a thick book. This book is a great size for being able to carry with you in a backpack or bag. It also is very descriptive with pictures, which I love! This is definitely something I would purchase for myself or a family member!

My Thoughts

This is a really great book with lots of fun ways to help you find and keep love in your life.This detailed spell book gives you all the tools you'll need to bring love to your life in all its forms. The book starts out with the basics, including an explanation of common tools and instructions on how to cast a circle. As you move forward, you'll find spells for just about any situation. There are spells to help you find new love, spice up an existing relationship, and even to grow meaningful friendships. Each one gives you explicit instructions, and if tools are involved, they are easy to locate and affordable.

Personally, I am very cautious about love spells since it's wrong to try to manipulate another person's feelings. Luckily, this book follows the rule of three, and all of their suggestions are written in a way that won't have karma coming back to bite you. I also liked that not everything was about romantic love, since love encompasses so much more. There are spells to help you get overcome shyness, to help heal heartbreak, and even to increase vitality. There is definitely something for everyone, whether you have an significant other already, are looking for new love, or just want to embrace self-love. This book is a great addition to any magical library.

My Thoughts

Greek Mythology has always been an area of interest for me. I love all the magic woven in with tales of bravery. This book was inspired by a group of objects that the author's father discovered in Greece. They are now in a museum, but their images are in this book and you can see how they tie into some of the legends of Greece.

This book covers a lot of information. It starts out with an outline of the most well-known Greek Gods. Then we go through and learn a little about each of them, We also get to read about the  most fantastic myths, including Medusa, the centaurs, Hercules,and the Minotaur. In addition to giving us a new take of these classic myths, this book also shows you real photos of ancient artifacts, and stunning images that are so life-like, they look like they could step out of the pages.  Anyone who is a fan of Greek legends will want to have this beautiful book in their collection.

My Thoughts

As someone who follows a pagan path, I found this mini-series especially interesting. The story centers around the celebration of May Day, also known as Beltane. It's supposed to be a fertility celebration, but in this show, the celebration is ruined when the May Queen vanishes under mysterious circumstances.  There are five episodes in the set.

1- The May queen, Hattie, vanishes the day of the parade. Locals blame the magic circle, but the police are looking at several of her family members. Things look dim even though her twin swears she's still alive.
2- Hattie's father leads a search party to try to distract attention from his handicapped brother.
3- A body is found but it's not Hattie's. Suspicion starts to move in another direction, but the townsfolk are getting antsy.
4- Some evidence is found is a briefcase and the police receive a startling confession.
5- The village gets upset when a confessor is released. We get a few answers, but still some questions remained unanswered, leaving the possibility of a sequel. 

I really enjoyed this mini-series. The mystery was thrilling, but I also enjoyed getting a peak into the pagan traditions that take place in Europe and the touch of magic weaved into the story. It was an exciting feature that I would definitely watch again.  I really  hope they continue on with this mini-series to ties up the loose ends.
