My Thoughts

Murdoch Mysteries is one of my favorite crime based shows. I love period drama, and I love learning about criminal investigations. This show combines both in a late 1890 - early 1900 setting. You'll learn how forensics experts solved the cases before they had the help of computers and DNA.  The cast of characters are funny, interesting, and diverse. This season includes 18 new episodes.

Murdoch Mystery Mansion - An architect explodes during Murdoch's housewarming party.

Operation  Murder - Julia's patient dies after what she thought was a successful operation. She suspects foul play and asks Murdoch to investigate.

My Big Fat Mimico Wedding - Higgins is shot at his wedding at Murdoch things one of the guests is the culprit.

Murdoch Without Borders - A deportation officer is murdered and the team suspects Greek immigrants.

The Spy Who Loved Murdoch - When a french diplomat is killed, Murdoch does undercover.

Sir. Sir? Sir!! - After an meteor shower, Crabtree suspects an alien invasion.

Brother's Keeper - Watts claims he shot someone is self-defense, but his story isn't adding up.

Drowning in Money - A rich family are found drowned in their pools at what was supposed to be a burglary call.

Secrets and Lies - Brackenreid discovers she has an adult daughter -- and she's missing.

Pirates of the Great Lakes - An Italian detective wants Murdoch to help his find Pompeii's treasure.

Annabella Cinderella - A female murderer escapes and is on her way to track down the witnesses.

Six of the Best - An orphan is found dead and the case leads Murdoch to an old teacher.

Murdoch and the Undetectable Man - Murdoch teams up with Tesla again when an inventor is murdered.

Sins of the Father - Murdoch's responds to a fatal fire and learns his father is the victim.

One Minute of Murder - Someone is electrocuted during a typing contest.

Manual for Murder - A book reading gets interrupted when a body is found electrocuted in copper.

This is such a great series. All of episodes are a bit on the dark side, but they are always tempered with humor. Both the costumes and the sets are realistic and really help to paint a picture of the time period.   This series is definitely a refreshing switch from the norm, and I'm looking forward to watching the  next season. If you want to take the advantage of a full set of amazing old world  stories, than this is the box set for you. You can order Murdoch Mysteries: Season 12 on DVD or Blu-ray on Acorn Media or Amazon.
