Still struggling with unpredictable blackouts, DS Marcella Backland, (Anna Friel, Pushing Daisies) is called to a house where the body of a 9-year old victim has been found. She is shocked to discover it's the same boy who disappeared four years ago after agreeing to walk home with her own son. From the creator of the critically acclaimed Danish/Swedish version of the The Bridge. 8 episodes, 6 hrs, 2 DVDs, SDH. Mature audiences.
My Thoughts
Marcella is a crime thriller series about a cop who is suffering from blackouts. While she's working to find a serial killer, she is dealing with her own mental instability which can lead to many problems. The second season has eight episodes.
1- When Marcella investigates a body found in a wall, she learns she knew the young victim.
2- Marcella gets therapy for her blackouts and the murdered child is linked to a pedophile.
3 - Jake threatens to reveal Marcella's blackouts if she doesn't give him custody of the kids. A new body leads the police to the brothel.
4 - Someone goes missing at a concert and a secret about Jason comes out in therapy.
5 - A victim is found being held captive and they find more victims in the lair.
6 - Marcella arrests a wealthy businessman. Reg is missing.
7 - Marcella believes the killer is a woman. A hostage situation leads to tragedy.
8 - Edward is being held captive and Marcella gets close to the truth.
This is a really great series, and even though I somehow missed season 1, I was able to pick up quickly and follow along with the story. I loved the twist of a cop who is having a mental breakdown. It makes for a very exciting storyline with some shocking twists. You can grab a copy of this DVD set online at Amazon or Acorn Media.
