Pastor Jonathan Matheson lives in a world of black and white, yet finds a way to navigate the “grey in-between” to work to his advantage, while facing one of the most tragic moments of his life. Set in small-town America and woven inside a tale of redemption, “Chasing Grace” is a story of how one family takes on the burden of guilt in order to make sense of their loss. While pointing the finger of blame at his brother, Pastor Jonathan also chooses to hide from the truth while trying to escape his own personal demons. “Chasing Grace” is loosely based upon true events and provides a powerful story about the redeeming power of forgiveness.
My thoughts
In Chasing Grace, the pastor looses his child when she accidentally shoots herself with her uncle's gun at her birthday party. This tragedy puts brother against brother and could tear the whole family apart. The pastor has always preached forgiveness, but he can't let go of his rage for his brother. He had just gotten out of jail and had passed out when the incident occurred. But no one is perfect, and the pastor has some secrets of his own.

This was a very touching and emotional story that was inspired by actual events. We follow each family through their battle with grief. They try to embrace their faith and forgive, but sometimes forgiveness comes too late.
