Bird's Eye wants kids to know that eating veggies doesn't have to be a chore. Some of the things that are good for you can actually taste good too. Birds Eye vegetables has teamed up with the Environmental Media Association to help teach children about the importance of vegetables and nutrition. They’re doing this by bringing celebrities back to their hometowns, teaming up with local schools and planting community gardens with the students.
The#GreenMySchool program kicked off with Lance Bass in Clinton, MS on April 20th. Lance spoke to the children there about the importance of eating healthy foods, agriculture and being a part of your community. They even took the time to plant some vegetables together.
EMA and Birds Eye believe that it is truly essential for people to understand where their foods come from and to make nutritional eating choices. Whether you pick them in a garden or grab them out of the freezer, vegetables should be a part of every day for every person!
This is such a wonderful idea and a great way to encourage kids to eat their veggies. Be sure to follow Bird's Eye to see what celebrities on next on the list to visit their home towns.
