My Thoughts:

I've had sensitive, dry skin ever since I was a little girl. Finding the proper lotion and skin care regime has always been difficult. Not only do I try to avoid greasy moisturizers, but finding one that actually works all day to provide relief can be a challenge. When I read about Theraplex's ClearLotion I loved the idea. I've always applied my moisturizers after a shower since the pores are open from the heat. I'm a huge fan of natural oils too, so this product was ideal.

New Product That Extends Life of Your Pedicure

My Thoughts:

As a working college student, getting a pedicure on a regular basis is not something I can fit into my schedule. Ode to Feet: Some Summer TLC from Excipial!

Warmer weather means it’s time to break out those cute sandals and open-toed shoes – creating some high-profile opportunities for your feet. While sandals, flip-flops and pedicures allow you to put your “best foot forward,” the hard truth is wearing open shoes or going barefoot can lead to dry, cracked feet. To help, Galderma (the maker of Cetaphil) has recently launched urea-based products! 

Developed by dermatologists, Excipial’s 10% Urea Hydrating Healing Lotion and 20% Urea Intensive Healing Cream target problem areas, such as your heels, by conditioning, exfoliating and hydrating to soothe and promote healing of extremely dry skin. Urea is a natural component of the skin’s tissues and helps to maintain a healthy moisture balance and keep skin soft and supple.

My Thoughts: 

I have always had horribly dry and cracked feet. One of my favorite activities is walking outside barefoot. When summer comes around, I pull out my best flip-flops and sandals to go out. However, I have always been a bit insecure about the appearance of my feet, especially the heels. I have tried other products in the past, but nothing seemed to give my feet back the moisture they needed. When I read about the research and ingredients in Excipial's lotion and cream, I was thrilled to give it a try! 

The packaging of the products was quite intriguing. The Hydrating Healing Lotion has a large twist cap that makes it easy to dispense, and the Intensive Healing Cream as a flip cap. Both products had a different texture and amount of Urea present. Neither had any sort of scent, making it perfect for those sensitive to perfumes or strong smells that are potent in other lotions and creams. 

The Hydrating Healing Lotion was made up of 10% Urea, and is best if used all over the body. It is recommended for dry and itchy skin, as well as assisting in exfoliating rough skin. The texture is a thin yet rich consistency that spreads easily. It reminded me of sunscreen. I love to use this right after a shower to lock in moisture. I noticed a difference in my skin the very next day! My dry patches got better after each use.  

The Intensive Healing Cream with 20% Urea is a targeted product for hands, knees, feet and elbows. It helps to restore hydration in severely dry skin. It also heals thick and cracked skin, making it feel softer and smoother. The texture is a bit thicker than the other, but it spreads just as nicely and soaks right in. After letting the cream sit for a few minutes, it actually seemed to exfoliate my skin as well. Some of the dry skin appeared to be rubbing off. I applied the cream to my hands and feet before bed and after a shower a few days a week. Due to how dry my feet were, I would cover them in socks to help assist the cream in locking in moisture. They have never looked better!

I started using this product on April 20th. Already, my right foot is almost healed completely. The cracks on my left foot have began to fully close and reduce in size. Those were the worst ones. The coloring of my feet are looking better too. I am truly amazed! I know that healing the intense cracks I have will take time, but to see these types of results so quickly has me thrilled. I know if I continue using these products, it will only get better from here.

My Thoughts

I got to try several of the Skin+Pharmacy products. The first one I tried is the Extended Moisture Hand Cream. I have had a horrible time with dry hands lately. I think it's because we keep going from hot to cold, to hot. I usually have to apply lotion several times to my hands, mainly my finger tips. With this, I was able to put it on once and it lasted for hours. It seems to be fragrance free as well.

The next product I tried as the 3-in-1 Itch Relief Lotion. This has been a life saver for my kids. They get itchy backs and scratch like crazy, sometimes leaving little cuts. I've been able to apply this to them after a shower and it's helped with the itching.

The third product I got to tr was the Extended Moisture Body Cream. This comes in a tub that you dip your fingers in to get the thicker lotion out to spread over your body. I used this a few times a week and I noticed softer skin. I'm not always a fan of the tubs of lotion, but I did like this one. It wasn't too thick and it wasn't too watery.

My Thoughts

I received a body lotion in the velvet plum scent and I really like the smell. It's fruity and flowery all at the same time. The lotion is thick and glides across my skin easily. It also absorbs very quickly and didn't leave me with a greasy feel.

I used it mainly on my hands and I felt as though it held up for quite awhile. I didn't feel like a few hours later that I needed to reapply. I typically use it as a hand lotion once a day and it's the only time I've needed it.

The scent does stick around for a bit, so if you're going somewhere and want to make sure you smell nice, using this will help you achieve that without being overpowering with a perfume. After using the lotion, I would pick up the body wash and body mist as well.

My Thoughts

In addition, it also works wonders for tired eyes. If you didn't get a good night's sleep and have telltale bags, this cream will wipe them away instantly. You can feel it go to work, tightening up the skin. The formula is not greasy and leaves your skin looking healthy and natural.

Pure & Pampered Body Wash – A pure and balanced cleanser for the entire body that leaves skin hydrated and silky, never tight or dry. 

My Thoughts 

 Lavender is one of my favorite essential oils because of its healing and relaxing qualities, so I love finding new products that utilize it. The aroma is a great way to unwind at the end of  a long day and the light scent clings to your skin long after you've turned off the shower. You can't go wrong with this lotion. It goes on evenly and leaves her skin feeling rose-petal soft.  The cream is gentle enough to use even on sensitive skin.  The lotion goes on smooth, rubs in easily, and has no greasy residue. It comes in a nice squeeze bottle for easy access. The chamomile and lemon scent is light and refreshing. It's also cruelty free which is very important to me and my family.

My Thoughts


This moisturizer is the perfect way to keep your skin healthy and wrinkle free.  The cream goes on smoothly and does not leave behind any greasy or sticky residues. Even after only a few weeks of use, I could see a difference in my skin. Fine lines seemed to have diminished almost overnight and it evened out my skin-tone. My skin just looks healthier and more vibrant. It leaves your skin feeling firm and taunt, but still moisturized and soft.  The 1.5 oz bottle is a generous portion that should last for a few months easily.

 CapriClear Spray On Moisturizer - Travel Size - (www.CapriClear.com) - A spray-on veil of 100% fractionated coconut oil, one of the gentlest and most effective moisturizing ingredients available.   Conceived by a dermatologist, it can even be safely used on the most sensitive of skin.

My Thoughts

CapriClear comes in a spray bottle that provides quick application and even coverage all over your body, much like the spray on sunblocks we use in the summer months. Only this smells much better and soaks right into your skin, without leaving behind any heavy residues.  It rubs in instantly and gives your skin a little boost of hydration. I love the coconut scent and the travel size is easy to take with you when you're on the go. It also works wonders on stretchmarks and scars.


The Belli Skincare line was originally designed for pregnant woman, but even those who aren't in the family way can see the benefits of this all-natural line. They are also cruelty free which is always a big plus in my book. "Growing up, we used whatever commercial lotion smelled nice. I remember having terribly raw, red, chapped hands as a child. In my later teens, I switched to more natural lotions. They smelled great, but I needed to apply them all the time to keep my skin moisturized, which, since they smelled so good I really didn't mind. But I still had really dry, itchy skin in the cold winter months.

In my twenties I worked in the natural skin care industry for a few years and learned quite a bit. Those "more natural" lotions I thought were better still had petrochemicals and other artificial ingredients. At the time, my father had recently passed away from cancer so I really wanted to make healthy changes in my life. I had always been interested in nature and natural remedies, and it was time to get it in high gear.

I bought books on soap and lotion making, took classes, and began creating cold process soap and made-from-scratch lotions & salves in my own kitchen. My first attempts were . . . less than pretty, LOL!! My first attempt at soap I discovered I don't like olive oil as a main ingredient - one of the ingredients, yes, but not the main ingredient. That yields a greenish-yellow, slimy, low-lather bar. It cleaned, but it wasn't anything like the luxurious cold process soaps I'd previously used. My first attempt at lotion I used beeswax and borax together as the emulsifier - tricky getting the amounts right, but it did the job! However, it made for a gritty-feeling lotion.

With my mini-successes, I began to purchase better ingredients for the job and have been experimenting ever since. I love to try out different ingredients! There are so many oils, butters, essential oils, and extracts to choose from! And the never-ending list of botanicals . . . I've been successfully making lotions, soaps, and salves for over a decade now.

The best part though, is knowing I'm giving my skin what it needs most - healing, moisturizing goodness right from nature. I only apply twice per day now, and that's more out of habit than need (and because it smells fantastic!). Even with washing my hands what seems like a zillion times per day with diaper duty, I don't need to apply lotion very often - and, a tiny little bit goes a very long way!  The worst part is having to wash my hands in public restrooms when on the go. Oh, I forget how harsh and drying those handsoaps are! Ouch!! I need to remember to keep a small bar of my soap in the diaper bag!!"
