Review: Glider Gloves

WINTER TEXTING GLOVES FOR IPHONE & ANDROID SMARTPHONES

Glider Gloves are the best touch screen compatible gloves for men, women and children. Touchscreen gloves, also known as texting gloves, capacitive gloves or even iPhone gloves, are gloves that allow you to interact with a screen with your gloves on so your hands stay warm. Our gloves are designed for winter use, keeping your hands protected and toasty with an amazing ability to still type and swipe your phone like normal.
Glider Gloves smartphone gloves are rated #1 in the market so beware of mass-produced typing gloves that are a dime a dozen and the price tags associated with brand name specialty gloves. Don’t compromise with an inferior performing glove that won’t keep your hands warm or look as fashionable as Glider Gloves. The company’s only focus is to ensure our touch screen gloves are fully functional, warm and innovative!

How do they work?

Using special conductive micro-fibers woven into the liner, we are able to bridge the conductive gap your gloves create between you and your device. Typical winter gloves create a barrier between the user and the screen, but not
Glider Gloves.

The result of conductive yarn gloves? Amazing touch response along your entire hand and fingers and allows for precise control and unparalleled touch response of your touchscreen device - no matter which part of the glove you use.

THE BENEFITS OF TOUCHSCREEN GLOVES

In the cold winter months, it is no surprise that you need a good pair of gloves to keep your hands warm and protect them from the elements. Today, everybody is connected, and quick communication is key to keep things running and to maintain relationships. Many of us need to be able to communicate on the go, in or out of the cold, and face the elements when we need to take a call or send a text message.

Are you tired of having to remove your gloves in the cold to use your smartphone device? We’ve got a solution for you.

Touchscreen gloves, also called texting gloves, capacitive gloves, or even iPhone gloves were engineered so you can use your phone while protecting your hands, but not all of these gloves are created equal.

We’ve created a practical solution to this problem that knocks other touchscreen compatible gloves to the curb. Now, you don’t have to settle for a low-quality product that leaves your hands exposed to the elements or one that sacrifices function for warmth.

SLIM AND PRACTICAL

Our layered design makes
Glider Gloves warm without being bulky, and that includes the winter option. With these on, it is easy to not only use a smart phone, but sift through pockets, pull credit cards out of your wallet, or anything else. We have designed a product that has maximum function in a simple design.

OUR HISTORYGlider Gloves hit the market in 2010 and took off. People immediately recognized their quality and functionality. We’ve been recognized with media coverage through USA Today, the Discovery Channel, GQ magazine, and were even featured at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. Glider Gloves are tried and true, and because of this, won Wirecutter’s award for best touch screen gloves 3 years in a row!

Our Thoughts

Who wouldn't want an awesome pair of winter gloves you can text with?!? Seriously though, these gloves are pretty cool.  Or maybe I should say pretty warm.

I live in Minnesota, so winters are cold.  COLD.  When it's 30F, we think it's warm and might not bother with gloves.  But for those early mornings and the January subzero temps, having warm gloves is a must.  But warm gloves you can text with?  That's a bonus!

So here you go - Glider Gloves are a nice warm, thicker pair of gloves.  Three layers of fabric with conducive copper yarn woven into the entire hand, not just the fingertips.

And look at this grippy stuff!  Your phone doesn't slide around in your hand, which is really nice.  I can't tell you how many times I've almost dropped my phone out in the cold.

My current set up when I want to use my phone outside in the deep cold of winter is a pair of the super cheap, thin knit gloves with the thinner fabric on the thumb and forefinger, topped with a thicker pair of fuzzy knit gloves that my girly long fingernails have worn holes in the thumb/forefinger. And then having sleeves long enough to cover all but my fingertips.  And no, that doesn't exactly cut it for the subzero days.  But to get these kind of gorgeous early morning winter sunrise photos, you have to go out into that early morning freezing cold. (all photos taken by me)

See all that ice?  It has to be really freaking cold for sundogs to appear - it has to do with ice crystals in the atmosphere. Did I mention this is Minnesota??

Anyway - since it's only October here right now, and not super cold - I waited until our coldest morning to take these gloves outside and test them out. It was 39F, cold enough I'd want some gloves if I was going out for a walk.

I actually took this screen shot of the morning's weather while wearing the Winter Style Glider GlovesI didn't have to worry about dropping my phone, the grip on the palm worked great.  The gloves are nice and soft inside.  Thicker, cushy feel. With the copper yarn, I could use any fingers I wanted on my phone and they all worked.

While wearing the gloves, I also took a pic of my dog which is a bit difficult to do since she's rarely still long enough to take a photo - extra grip really helps there because you've gotta be quick!

One note on care: you can hand wash these gloves, but it says on their website to lay flat to dry, and don't put them in the dryer.

Here's something else I like about Glider Gloves:

GLIDER GLOVES AND RAYNAUD’S DISEASE

"For some, especially those diagnosed with Raynaud’s disease, keeping your hands cozy isn’t just a comfort but a necessity. When fingers get cold, Raynaud’s disease can cause an uncomfortable attack that limits the function of your fingers until they can be warmed and blood can be recirculated in the fingers. Because of this, those suffering from Raynaud’s often wear gloves to prevent problems, but as you know, typical gloves come with their own set of limitations.

Our gloves are the best for those needing protection to keep their hands warm to prevent numbness and sometimes painful tingling or stinging that comes with an attack. These gloves can easily be incorporated into daily life because they can be practically used anywhere and allow for smartphone and laptop trackpad usage."

Glider Gloves not only offers Winter Style Gloves, but also Urban Style gloves - low profile, lightweight, and slim fitting.

This Holiday Give Toasty Toes with Heated Insoles!

One of the coolest, NEW gadgets this holiday season for everyone who hates cold feet are the ThermaCELL Heated Insoles and Heat Packs. This is also the first product of this type to have its own app, improving usability and functionality with the ThermaCELL ProFLEX Heavy Duty model. The heat packs are controlled by a free app, available for your iphone or android that is quickly downloadable!
Other models include the original ThermaCELL Heated Insole, which allows you to control heat with a useful remote control. The third option is the ProFlex model, which comes with a rechargeable battery for extended. These are truly the easiest way to stay warm while enjoying the outdoors this season!

My Thoughts:

I was able to review the ThermaCELL ProFlex and wow was I impressed by this product. I have yet to see anything quite like it. Mixing comfort with technology makes this a product unlike any other. I got this for my dad since he works outside. He is constantly traveling when storms hit, so a product like this is ideal for him, and anyone who works or love the outdoors. It allows for users to not have to worry about the elements as much and feel comfortable during blistering conditions.

What is awesome about the ProFlex model is that it not only comes with a handy remote control option, but also an antimicrobial, shock-absorbing Poron battery cushion, and a removable, rechargeable battery. It will recharge in about four hours using the charger or the USB included in the box. The remote has settings that include; medium (100°F), high (111°F) and a no heat option as well. My dad has found that yes, these insoles last about five hours like the product claims. They can can also be used for comfort as well if you do not feel the need to use the heat. The material is a comfy polyurethane, so even if you just wanted to enjoy more comfort in your boots on warmer days, these are perfect!

The ProFlex can fit any size too! You can actually trim the material if need to be to fit your favorite shoes or boots. The sizes range from about 3.5-13 in men's sizes and women's sizes 4.5-14.

For anyone who loves to work or enjoy the outdoors during the cold winter and holiday seasons, this is the product you need! You will be thankful while feeling nice and toasty in your ThermaCELL Heated Insoles. Also, you do not have to worry about misplacing or needing a new battery, ThermaCELL sells replacements for each on their website. This is a wonderful gift for yourself or a loved one!

Handcrafted Scarf & Cup Cozy by The Yarn Star and TheCraftStar

***Product was received for free in exchange for an honest review.***

Fall is here and winter is on its way! It's time to stock up on all those adorable, yet warm accessories to keep you fashion forward and comfortable. Nothing beats hand-made items for yourself as well as gifts for those around you and TheCraftStar has a myriad of products available.

One great store from TheCraftStar is The Yarn Star! A note from the owner herself:

"I'm Susan, a self-proclaimed serial knitter and yarn hoarder. My shop offers quality high end and destash yarns, hand knitted items and a variety of other craft items including beads, buttons and more. Thanks for stopping by!".

And just look at the beautiful craftsmanship of Suzanne with this Unisex Knitted Scarf

Our Thoughts

I have a thing for scarves. I have more than the normal person should have, as well as coffee cups. This scarf is cuter than can be. It's the shortest one that I own now and I think I like it better than the others! Long scarves were starting to get tangled up in my coat, take forever to pull on and off and frankly, they were also getting a bit cumberson.

This scarf is easy to put on and take off and it's so thick that it keeps me just as warm as all of my other scarves. No irritating itchiness accompanies this scarf and, with it being unisex, I can easily throw it at my husband to put on if he gets a bit chilly too!

Not only did I get this scarf, but Suzanne also threw in a cup cozy and it will most definitely get used because I LOVE coffee!! It's color is like a gray/purple, very beautiful.

Great quality products that I am going to enjoy all winter long. Check out The Yarn Star now to see some of her other amazing products!

Our Thoughts

How cute are these?! While these are for toddlers, my four year old is the size of a peanut and I knew she'd love this. She has about 4-5 winter hats that she changes out each winter, and she'll sometime wear them into the spring and summer as an added fashion statement. No one stands in the way of a girl and her clothing :)

One of the things I do not like about her current winter hats is that they're rough, not soft at all and they make her face itchy. Not only that, but they do not cover up her ears. This hat does!! I tried it on her as soon as we got it in (much to her disappointment I had to take it off since it's mid-July). It fit over her little head perfectly, covered her entire ears and the velcro fit perfectly under her chin. It was like this was handmade JUST for her. Very pleased. Also, it is extremely soft! No rough edges or itchy material. She will definitely be able to wear this all day long in the winter while sledding. Now I can't wait for the cold weather so she can utilize this fabulous hat! Not to mention it's Organic, you cannot beat that!
