Tips for a Long Lasting Manicure + A Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail and Cuticle Oil Review.

Skyy Hadley, owner of As U Wish Salon, has these quick and easy tips to keep your manicure lasting longer during this extended heat wave! See below and LMK if you need samples, interviews or more info. Thanks!

  • Remove your polish and let your nails breathe for a good few days. If nails look discolored, squeeze some lemon into your lotion or rub a lemon wedge directly onto the nail to brighten nails.
  • Apply a shea butter lotion or non-greasy cream to lock in moisture.
  • Begin painting! Apply a cuticle oil (see below) to the base of your nails (or even when they are already polished), focusing around the cuticle area to hydrate and bring moisture into the skin, helping the polish last longer.

Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail & Cuticle Oil-

Finish off your manicure with Color Therapy nail & cuticle oil, formulated with breakthrough argan oil formula. Your ultimate in nail therapy.

  • Moisturizing and nourishing oil
  • Instantly restores radiance to nails and cuticles
  • Promotes strong, resilient natural nails

My Thoughts:

As an art teacher, my nails are constantly getting covered in paint, clay, glue, etc. On top of that, they are getting washed more often than most, leaving my nails looking dull and dry. Although I love a day at the salon, going on a regular basis is not something I have time for. The added costs get expensive and appointments can be time consuming.

The Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail and Cuticle Oil is such a breath of fresh air. It is like having a salon right at home! The argon oil formula is thick, smells amazing, and instantly hydrates. After applying, it is suggested that you massage the oil in upon application. Afterwards, wash your hands and apply your favorite nail polish afterwards.

As you can see from the pictures, my nails were not looking their best at all. The Color Therapy Nail and Cuticle Oil applied evenly and soaked in almost completely after a couple minutes of massaging it it. My after picture was taken once I was done washing and drying my hands. My nails felt smooth, soft, and supple. I was amazed by the immediate results. They were long lasting and the product has been fantastic. It is certainly my new go to! I would highly recommend it!

Product Review: Neocell Biotin Bursts

Biotin Bursts have been named Best Supplement for Skin in the 2016 NewBeauty Beauty Choice Awards. The winners were chosen by NewBeauty editors, industry experts and readers from thousands of products submitted.

NeoCell Biotin Bursts are the easiest way to get a daily dose of biotin, an important B-vitamin that promotes healthy hair, skin and nails, as well as energy support. These soft chews come in a delicious Brazilian acai berry flavor - but don't be fooled by the great taste - a single serving delivers 10,000 mcg of biotin and only 20 calories. Biotin Bursts contain no gluten, soy, artificial flavors or GMO ingredients. Healthy hair, skin and nails were never this easy or sweet!

The NewBeauty judges tried Biotin Bursts and, like most NeoCell customers, found themselves hooked, saying:

"These yummy, Starburst-like chews pack a ton of biotin into each bite for stronger hair, luminous skin and more resilient nails. You'll actually want to take these daily supplements."

NeoCell Biotin Bursts come in 30-count cartons with a suggested retail price of $14.99 and are available through more than 10,000 retailers nationwide.

Our Thoughts

So, I wasn't sure what to expect when I received these, as I haven't really tried too many hair and nail supplements before. These chewy tablets, made with Acai berry, are GMO-free and won the 2016 NewBeauty Beauty Award.

The tablets come in chewy squares with flavor that can be almost overwhelming when you first take them, and I say this as someone who loves products with Acai in it. However, I quickly got used to the strong flavor, and really enjoyed the taste.

While I didn't see anything too impressive with my hair, I will say that I think my skin does look a bit better since I tried them, and I do believe it made a difference for my nails. They seemed stronger, and looked nicer than they usually do. If you haven't found a similar product you really love, or are looking to shake your beauty routine up a little, I think these are worth a try to see how they work for you.

Mother Day Gift Guide: Gio Naturals Oil

I'm always looking for something natural and organic to use on my skin, so it's great to find products out there that offer me that option. This one can be used on hair, nails, and face. They do, however, warn that if you're using it on your face, you should avoid contact with eyes.

I've tried similar oil on my face and hands before, and this was along those lines. It feels really oily at first, but the sensation diminishes with a little time, and it does help make skin softer. You only need to use a few drops, which I like, as it makes the bottle last longer. Besides the dropper, a little spray nozzle is included as well, giving people an option as to what they'd prefer to use

One of my favorite uses (and the thing that impressed me most) was in the hair. A little bit in the hair about a half-hour before washing it does the trick. I am really pleased with how my hair looks after using it. It looks a lot neater when I pull the sides back or put it in a ponytail. Plus, I noticed that it looks a bit fuller after using it.

I am definitely a fan, and this is one of a few products I have tried I'll be replenishing once the bottle's done.

My Thoughts

I've been using this for roughly two weeks now and I really like it. My hair has been thicker since using it and just felt better in texture. My nails have also been thicker and growing too. I like all the benefits that come from taking this daily with the Seabuckthorn and the omega oils.

I have not had side effects from it. No weird tasting burps or sour stomach. I have a senstitive stomach, so some supplements bother me. I usually take this with food just to be safe, but I have taken it few times without food and it hasn't bothered me.

SeabuckWonders comes in a capsule formula with a liquid gel in it, unlike other hair and nail supplements i have tried that have been a hard tablet.
