Bake It Happen is an internet campaign that helps to raise money for breast cancer research. It was started by two sisters after their mother, Judy Levin, lost her battle with the disease.  Judy was an avid baker whose recipes were in high demand.  After receiving multiple requests for Judy’s recipes, her daughters, Shari and Stacy, realized they could spread Judy’s culinary love and benefit  Metastatic Breast Cancer research at the same time. This is how the Bake it Happen campaign was born.

Every year, Bake It Happens releases new recipes. To get access to these amazing treats, you need to sign up at www.bakeithappen.net.  Bake it Happen will be featuring four different recipes this year including Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf, Pumpkin Oatmeal Chip Cookies, Judy's Black Bottom Cupcakes, and Compost Cookies.  After you bake one of these delicacies, you can snap a photo and share it on social media using the hashtag #bakeithappen.  For every photo posted of their Bake it Happens recipes, they will DONATE $5 to The Cancer Couch Foundation! 

In addition to the internet campaign, Taste Buds Kitchen will also be hosting Bake it Happen baking classes throughout their seven kitchens nationwide!  In these themed classes, children can bake a special TBK versions of the Bake it Happen Pumpkin Oatmeal Chip Cookie!  Each kitchen has graciously dedicated to donate a portion of the proceeds from these classes to The Cancer Couch Foundation!!

My Thoughts

Teleflora has beautiful bouquets for all your special occasions, but the Pink Grace bouquet is truly unique. Each bouquet includes a selection of  beautiful  roses, lilies, and carnations with a little greenery mixed in.  It also comes in a beautiful pink cubed vase. Because the vase is square, it can easily be used a candle bowl or for a multitude of other purposes long after the flowers are gone. Of course, the thing that makes this bouquet really special is what it stands for. Each time you order one, a portion of the proceeds goes to the Breast Cancer Foundation. This makes this bouquet the perfect choice for a special survivor in your life. We gave our flowers to my great aunt. She is ninety-five, and is a breast cancer survivor who is still going strong!  

There are still more perks to ordering from Teleflora.  Usually, when you order flowers online, they won't look as nice in person as they did in the photos on the website. That's not the case with this lovely bouquet. They were delivered by hand by a local florist in my hometown, which is great because it helps the economy in my own community. What makes it even better is that they are stunning. Every leaf and every petal is perfection both in their freshness and the arrangement.  We've had this arrangement for a few days, but all the other flowers I have received from Teleflora has lasted at least two weeks or more.

I picked out Traci Zeller's Mat and it complemented my kitchen doorway in the best way possible. The colors are so vibrant, it's like having a beautiful mural in your  doorway.   This rug has added a whole new dimension to our kitchen, and I feel like I'm finally expressing the uniqueness I knew was inside of me all along. It is also very well made and will hold up to lots of foot traffic. Of course, the best part is knowing I am helping to support such a great cause.

• 3 oz.  Grapefruit Sparkling ICE
• 1 ½ oz.  vodka
• 1 oz. lime juice
• Lime wedge
• Sliced fresh jalapeño
• Chili salt for rim of glass (Kosher salt mixed with chili powder)

 Directions

1. Use a lime wedge to rub the entire rim of a chilled martini glass, and dip into chili salt mixture. 
2. Combine vodka and jalapeno slices with ice in a shaker.
3. Strain and pour into the chilled martini glass.
4. Top with Grapefruit Sparkling ICE. 
5. Garnish with a few Jalapeno slice.

My Thoughts

Ice is not a new drink in our home. It's one that we generally enjoy. It was my first time trying the grapefruit flavor and I really did like it. This drink has a slight carbonation to it, so it's great for soda drinkers who are looking for a healthier option, but still want something fizzy. It was sweet, but not to the point that I had to not drink it. When looking over the ingredients, there wasn't a long list of them, and most of them were things I recognized, so I felt good about drinking this.

My kids loved it as well. For them, it feels like a real treat since we don't have soda in our household.

It's great that this company has taken one of their drinks and added the breast cancer awareness logo and it donating to the cause. When purchasing this flavor, you can not only get a tasty drink, but also help a great cause.

My Thoughts

This was a very sturdy iPhone case. It was thick when on the phone, but that was to be expected with the built in wallet area on the back. I liked that there was a mirror on the inside. It was small, but would be good to do a quick check for lipstick or food in your teeth.

The case itself was a hard plastic with a sort of silicone feel to it. The case opened and closed easily, yet felt like it locked enough that I wouldn't have to worry about it opening and losing anything. I would have liked to see slots inside to put a card in. Instead there is just a clip to put everything securely under. If you were to place a key in there, you'd need to be care when opening it nothing fell out.

The clip was a hard plastic like the case and it seemed secure when I put stuff in it. Getting the phone in and out of the case was easy. It did grip my phone well and I didn't feel like my phone would fall out.

A great case for a great cause. This is the perfect case for a girls night out when you want to carry just the essentials and not keep up with a purse.
