 My Thoughts

The Fabelmans tells the story of an aspiring director named Sammy. It starts with him growing up in a strict Jewish household with his three sisters. He dreams of making movies and starts with home movies when video cameras were a fairly new invention. The film follows Sam through the fifties and sixties and he learns more about filmmaking. In addition to a look at the early years, it also delves into family relationship and secrets. Its a movie lush with emotion and a step back in time.

This was a fantastic movie that was inspired some Steven Spielberg's real life. It touches on the challenges of being an artist. In addition to the feature, there is also some great bonus footage including an interview with Steven Spielberg and a look at the costume and set designs.
