Acorn TV features the DVD/Blu-ray debut of Acorn TV Original acclaimed suspenseful Irish drama, BLOOD, Series 2 on June 2, 2020. Compared to Broadchurch and The Killing by critics, the highly rated mystery stars BAFTA nominee Adrian Dunbar (Superintendent Ted Hastings in UK’s 2019 #1 cop drama Line of Duty) as Jim Hogan, a once respected, tormented ex-doctor in a small Irish town, with three adult children. In Series 1, his wife died, and everyone believed it was an accident, except his daughter, who grows suspicious of her father. In Series 2 of this family thriller, Jim Hogan returns home a year later, stripped of his medical license and determined to make amends to reconnect with his family. Lauded in the press as “one of the best overlooked TV shows in 2018” (TIME), this two-disc DVD or Blu-ray set ($39.99, Amazon.com) includes interviews and Q&A with the cast. Series 2 of Blood previously premiered on Acorn TV in March 2020. Called a “glorious streaming service… an essential must-have” (The Hollywood Reporter), AMC Networks’ Acorn TV is North America’s most popular and largest streaming service featuring high-quality television from Britain and Beyond.
In Series 2, Jim Hogan finds that his eldest daughter Fiona Crowley (Gràinne Keenan, Victoria, The Foreigner) is ailing, slowly succumbing to the same debilitating illness that afflicted her mother. Jim’s determined efforts to make amends and help his ailing family only seem to add to their grief, and things worsen when he stumbles upon suspicious activity at the farm where his son-in law Paul (Ian Lloyd Anderson, Love/Hate) works. When Fiona’s car veers off the road and crashes into a canal, a disturbing discovery is found. As the police start investigating, shocking secrets emerge that deepen the rift within the family and derail Jim’s chance at a fresh start.

My Thoughts
Blood is a Irish psychological drama centering around Cat Hogan. When her mother is murdered, she returns to her small hometown only to find that everything seems suspicious. She suspects her father and it rekindles many of her childhood. This season includes six episodes:
Deep Water - Jim comes home to his family and he gets a job on Paul's farm.Things are going well until the pair witnesses a crime. Meanwhile, Fiona is in a car accident.
Grave Digging - Fiona is arrested for Paul's murder. Flashbacks show us Jim and Paul argued about the crime they witnessed. Fiona gets an interesting proposal.
Where This Has Led - Paul has to decide if he wants to steal a horse. Gillian gets in a fight with her husband and Jim is trying to find a new job.
Communion - Jim and Michael finally come face to face at the twins' communion. An estranged family member makes a surprise appearance.
Can't Repeat the Past - Gillian and Fiona's relationship is now in the open. Paul worries she will leave him and tells Jim he doesn't want to keep any more secrets.
What He Saw - Fiona is having health issues and needs medication. Paul is lashing out. Dez finally figures everything out.

This is an awesome series filled with intrigue and family secrets. This set also includes some great behind-the-scenes footage. I can't wait to see what happens next season. You can crab the first series on DVD or Blu-ray at Acorn Media. You can it online at Amazon.
