HUMANS: COMPLETE COLLECTION

Acorn features the uncut UK edition Blu-ray Collection debut of AMC Networks’ gripping science fiction series HUMANS: COMPLETE COLLECTION on May 5, 2020. Provocative and thrilling, this “ultimate A.I thought experiment” (The Atlantic) explores the intersection of man and machine with emotional depth and pulse-pounding tension. A great ensemble cast including Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians),  Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd) and Tom Goodman-Hill (Cheat, The Imitation Game) is enhanced by fantastic guest stars, such as Oscar® winner William Hurt (Body Heat, Kiss of the Spider Woman), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Trilogy, Wisting) and Letitia Wright (Black Panther). Humans is set in the near future where humanoid “synths” have been created to help busy families simplify their lives. But will these perfect servants stay compliant forever? Now featured in a six-disc Blu-ray set, the complete collection includes over 2.5 hours of bonus material ($69.99, Amazon).
Originally broadcasted on AMC from 2015-2018, the acclaimed series is based on the award-winning Swedish sci-fi drama Real Humans. Humans also features Will Tudor (Game of Thrones), Colin Morgan (Merlin), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black Mirror), and Emily Berrington (24: Live Another Day).
In Series 1, when Joe Hawkins (Goodman-Hill) buys synth Anita (Chan), he hopes it will relieve the pressure on his lawyer wife, Laura (Parkinson). Although Anita is a hit with Joe’s young children, Laura feels uneasy about sharing her home with a synth. Meanwhile, retired synth engineer George (Hurt) refuses to dispose of his beloved but malfunctioning synth, Odi (Turner). And mysterious Leo (Morgan) hides secrets that could transform the future of synth technology.
Then in Series 2, synths become an inextricable part of society, obediently serving and protecting the human population. But what happens when these Synths are given the right to consciousness and their own free will?
Series 3 is one year after the dawn of consciousness. A decimated and oppressed Synth population fights to survive in a world that hates and fears them.
My Thoughts
I love a good futuristic show, and this is a great one! In the show, humanoid robots called Snyths are created to work as servants for humans.   At first, it seems like a great way to make everyone's life easier, but before long, some of the robots begin to resent their masters.  In the series, we follow several families as they try to adjust to life with their Synths. In season two, the Snyths are becoming more aware and more unhappy with their situation, which could be dangerous for the humans. This season includes eight exciting episodes.

Season 1

1- Joe Hawkins gets a Snyth named Anita, much to his wife's displeasure. An older man named George gets a unit named Odi that is already malfunctioning. Leo and his synth Max are partners in crime and on the run.

Season 2

Season 3

8 - Niska learns the identity of the  "synth who sleeps." Laura tries to prevent the government's plan to destroy all green-eyed synths.

This was a great show with lots of fabulous sci-fi elements, and an awesome story-line. I'm sorry to see it come to an end. You can grab a copy for yourself on Acorn Media or online at Amazon.
