My Thoughts
This exciting series is set in 1936 and centers around the Vidago Palace which is a real hotel in Portugal. The Spanish Civil War has just begun and Carlota hopes her wedding to wealthy Cesar will ensure her families survival. However, she finds herself falling in love with the son of the concierge. This disk includes six exiting episodes.
Fateful Encounter - Carlota agrees to marry Cesar to save her family from bankruptcy but her heart belongs to Pedro.
Left Behind - Pedro is a wounded fugitive, but his friends believe he's dead and leave to tell his family. Carlota things Pedro deserted and confides to her friend who is also Cesar's sister.
The Rescue - Carlota finds the wounded Pedro and gets help. His fellow fugitives are delighted until they learn another member of their team was taken captive. Carlota tries to forgot Pedrp as her wedding approaches.
Confessions - Carlota's mother interrupts a meeting with the lovers. When they finally get together, they work out many of their problems.
Family Pressures - As soon as Pedro and Carlota decide to be together, he runs off on another mission. Carlota's family pressures her to marry Cesar.
The Wedding - Pedro is captured and Carlota feels forced to marry Cesar to save his life. Cesar's sister tries to help, but it may be too late.
I really enjoyed this series which mixes historical aspects with a touch of romance. The settings are lovely and true to the era. It's a passionate tale that will leave you swooning, but also includes some great war intrigue. Grab your copy on Acorn Media or Amazon.
