Breaking Brooklyn DVD Review

A heartwarming story for the whole family about love and determination, Breaking Brooklyn arrives on DVD, Digital, and On Demand on November 6 from Lionsgate.

Filled with energetic song and dance numbers, Breaking Brooklyn is the story of a homeless young dancer and his brother who are taken in by an old Broadway showman when their father is arrested. When one of the young men learns that their new guardian could lose his theater, they enter a dance CONTEST to save it. The film stars Oscar® winner Louis Gossett Jr. (1982, Best Supporting Actor, An Officer and a Gentleman) and newcomer Colin Critchley, Nathan Kress, Madeleine Mantock, and Primetime Emmy® nominee Vondie Curtis-Hall (1995, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, "ER"), with a directorial debut by Paul Becker. Breaking Brooklyn will be available on DVD for the suggested retail price of $19.98.

Aaron wants to dance. Big brother Albee wants a girlfriend. They both need food and shelter. But when their deadbeat dad is arrested and their car is towed, the boys ?nd themselves on the streets. Miraculously, their teacher, Miles, takes them under his wing and into his home, and invites Aaron into his tap class. Filled with dance routines and Big Apple magic - and starring Louis Gossett Jr. and Vondie Curtis-Hall - this touching family drama shows that you're never out of luck when you have a dream.
My Thoughts

Breaking Brooklyn is the inspiring story of two young brothers. Aaron has dreamed all his life of being a dancer and Albee is looking for love. The pair have been struggling to get by, and when their dad walks out on them, they are left to fend for themselves.  They soon find themselves living on the streets of New York. Then they happen upon a dancer named Miles who decides to help them out. He gives them a home and teaches Aaron all about dance in true Broadway style.

This a great movie filled with music and dance that will have you tapping your toes. The touching story line proves that there is always a chance for dreams to come true if you work hard enough. This is a great movie with a good moral. It's the perfect choice for family movie night because kids of all ages will enjoy it, and so will their parents.
