“The Lion King”—joins the highly celebrated Walt Disney Signature Collection. The coming-of-age masterpiece, filled with humor and heart, breathtaking animation and soul-stirring Academy Award®–winning music (1994: Best Original Score and Best Original Song, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”), arrives on Digital on Aug. 15 and on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 29.

My Thoughts
The Lion King was first released when I was a young girl. I fell in love with the songs and the deep meaning of the circle of life. In this film, little Simba's world is turned upside down when his father is killed. He believes it's his fault and he runs away. He's taken in by a crazy pair of friends who teach him how to make the most of life. In the meantime, his evil uncle Scar has taken over the Pridelands. His first love goes in search of Simba to bring him home and regain control of his pride and take his rightful place as king.
It's so wonderful to see this classic added to the Signature Collection. The colors seem more vibrant then ever before. There is also lots of bonus footage that you won't find on other versions including four sing-a-long videos and recording sessions. I have owned this film on VHS and DVD, but this is the best edition so far. I'm thrilled to be able to share one of my all-time favorites with my children.
