Star Wars Rebels was created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”), and Carrie Beck. The Lucasfilm Animation production is also executive-produced by Filoni and Kinberg.

Featuring the voices of Freddie Prinze Jr. (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”) as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall (TV’s “Young Justice”) as Hera, Steve Blum (“The Boxtrolls,” “Cowboy Bebop”) as Zeb, Tiya Sircar (“The Good Place,” “Master of None”) as Sabine, Taylor Gray (TV’s “Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures”) as Ezra, Dee Bradley Baker (“American Dad,” “Phineas and Ferb”) as Captain Rex and David Oyelowo (“Selma” and “The Butler”) as Agent Kallus.

My Thoughts

My 13-year-old son is a huge Star Wars fan, and he was thrilled when Disney came out with Star Wars Rebels. The series centers around a group of rebels who fight the Empire when they try to occupy their home. It brings is a cast of characters that includes Ezra, Hera, Kanan, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper. Some classic favorites still make an appearance, like R2-D2 and C-3PO. A small group of rebels take Darth Vadar head on to try to bring peace to the galaxy  There are 21 episodes in the first season including:

In addition to all the episodes of season 2, this Blu-ray set also gives you some great extras like behind the scenes footage and extended versions. My teenage son loved the third series just as much as the first two, and he is hoping they keep this one going a lot longer than Clone Wars.  The animation is great and the story-line keeps you on the edge of your seat. He can't wait to see where season four takes things.
