My Thoughts
It's always hard to move to a new town, but it's even harder when you're recovering from an injury that set your biggest dream on hold. Mattie is a little nervous about getting back on the ice after she hurt her knee, but she knows she can't give up on her dreams. To make things more nerve-wracking, the resident skating champ isn't happy to have new competition. She and her mother are less than welcoming and do everything they can to make things more difficult for Mattie. Mattie doesn't let any of this keep her down, and she keeps pushing to do her best.
This is a cute movie to watch on family movie night. My girls are 6 and 16, and they both enjoyed it. It is a little predictable, and the stereotypical blonde snob is a little overdone, but there are still a lot of great moments in this movie. One of the best parts is getting to see the real shaking champs on the ice. We all enjoyed the film and would definitely watch it again.
