My Thoughts

When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with Little House on the Prairie. I'll be honest. This is partly because my name is Laura too.  I idolized Laura and really believed I would be just like her when I grew up. I was even sure I would marry a guy named  Almanzo some day. This show made me smile every time someone taught Nelly a lesson, but there were also times it made me cry. When Mary lost her eyesight, it was terrible. When Laura's baby boy died, I sobbed. When Mary's son was lost in a fire in the school, I was devastated. I watched the show, and read all the books, and felt like a was part of the  family.

This DVD set is a great collection that includes three full length movies, all of which are set later in the series when Laura is grown up and married. In one of them, we watch as Laura's adopted brother  Albert battles with a serious illness with bravery and courage. Then, Laura and Almanzo race to find their missing daughter. Finally, Laura inspires an entire town to stand up against a business tycoon trying to steal their land.

This is a great DVD set that takes me back to my childhood. Little House will always be one of my favorite shows, and it's great to be able to share some of these extended shows with my family.
