Barbie Mariposa and the Fairy Princess Toys

On August 27,^th Barbie is releasing her 26th title – Barbie Mariposa and the Fairy Princess! In this title, Barbie is bringing back the beloved Mariposa character and spreading positive messages, laughter and pink-tastic fun!






Mariposa and her furry friend Zee return in Barbie: Mariposa and the Fairy Princess. In this magical adventure, Mariposa becomes the royal Ambassador of Flutterfield, and is sent to forge a lasting peace between her fairy land and their rivals, the Crystal Fairies of Shimmervale. While Mariposa doesn't make a great first impression on their King, she becomes fast friends with his shy daughter, Princess Catania. However, a misunderstanding causes Mariposa to be banished from the fairy land. As Mariposa and Zee return to Flutterfield, they encounter a dark fairy on her way to destroy Shimmervale.

 My Thoughts

To go along with the fun release, some beautiful new toys will be flying onto store shelves. My daughter was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the new Barbie Mariposa dolls, and she was she thought they were fairy-tastic.

There are two dolls in the Marisposa collection and each one is a magical addition to the Barbie family. First, there is the Fairy Princess Mariposa Doll. She is made with gigantic wings that remind me of a monarch butterfly.  They are almost as big as she is and definitely help imagination take flight. The really cool thing about the doll is that you can take the wings and wrap them around her waist, creating a equally stunning ball gown. Just press the button on her necklace to once again transform her into a butterfly princess.

The second doll now available is the Fairy Princess Catania and she is sure to be a hit with little princesses everywhere. Like Mariposa, she has offers a gown that is two beautiful ensembles in one.  The first dress is a simple but elegant pink that displays Catania's everyday nobility. But with a press of the jeweled button on her waist, the gown opens to a glittery masterpiece that no little girl can resist.  In addition to her color-changing gown, she also has shimmery wings that can be lifted up and down.

My daughter loved her dolls and we can't want to grab the DVD and enjoy some quality family time together. She loves Mariposa so much, we are definitely adding the beautiful Fairy Princess Castle Play set to our Christmas wish list. This portable and interactive play set mimics the fairy castle and is the perfect place to reenact all your favorite scenes from the movie.
