With summer entertaining right around the corner, I wanted to pass along information about a few of Boulder Canyon’s new and unique potato chip options that I believe will interest your readers. My Thoughts

Chips are something most everyone likes, but having them be healthy in anyway is hard. Boulder Canyon is doing their best to turn this snack as healthy as possible. And this summer, they have some unique flavors to try during your backyard BBQ's.

I tried the Grilled Brat and Sweet Corn flavor. I had wanted to try the Peach Cobbler, but it wasn't in stock when I went shopping. The chips were interesting. You get the chip taste with a taste you're not expecting. The sweet corn was my favorite. I like the hint of salt with the sweetness to it. They were good for dipping in ranch.

The grilled brat, I did like, but not sure I'd grab that one again. It didn't taste like biting into a brat, but there was a hint of meaty flavor to it. My son liked them a lot and he ended up finishing off the bag.

I'm hoping to make it back to my local Sprouts to get some more flavors soon and try some of the unique oil flavors, as well as the classic chips they always have. I liked that these chips had no MSG and were made from non GMO products. The company tries to get the best ingredients and process them as less as possible.

popchips® Announces Limited Edition Star Wars: The Force Awakens™

popchips®, the innovative popped snack company, today announced that it will offer unique, Star Wars: The Force Awakens themed product at retailers nationwide for a limited time.

The company will debut the special Star Wars designed packaging on three of its most popular flavors including BBQ, Crazy Hot and Sea Salt. The product packaging will feature characters from the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens filmgiving fans and moviegoers an exciting snack option prior to the film’s debut.

This newest offering follows popchips successful back-to-school snacking multi-pack introduction, which included classic Star Wars™ characters on the packaging.

My Thoughts

I love salty snacks, and chips are my one of my favorites, but I hate the greasiness they leave behind on my hands. Even after you wash them, that greasy feeling lingers. But this doesn't happen with popchips. These yummy chips are different, because they aren't baked or fried. Instead, they take only the best potatoes, add a little heat and pressure, and wait for them to pop.  Then they add a little seasoning.  The result is a crispy, light snack that tastes amazing but doesn't leave behind the greasy residue like so many other chips.

My family received a sample pack of single serve bags in the new Frozen and Star Wars themes, and they were a huge hit with everyone. The bags are just the right size to tuck into a lunch bag. They come in tasty varieties like Sea Salt. Crazy Ht and Barbeque.  Despite the lack of grease, the chips are still packed with flavor.  They don't taste like cardboard, like so many "better for you" options. In fact, when I filled up a bowl with these chips at my daughter's birthday party, no one believed it when I told them they were gluten free and had no trans fat. They are so shockingly delicious, you'll have trouble believing they're a healthier option too, but they really are. Of course, having their favorite characters on the bag is a big bonus.

In addition to the flavors we sampled, there are a few other varieties, including cheddar and sour cream, salt & pepper, and several  more.  If you'd like to learn more about popchips and their full line of products or find a location near you that sells them, be sure to visit their website or follow them on their social media.

Munch on Meat Chips

For road trips, beach days, or to and from soccer games- it’s pretty much a given you will need snacks on-hand. Sure, apple slices and granola bars are great, but sometimes we just want the salty crunch of a chip. Now there’s a new high-protein chip revolutionizing the way we snack smart that’s perfect for the entire family.

Meat Chips is a first of its kind crunchy flavored snack chip (think like Doritos- but with none of the junk chemicals you don’t want your family eating) packed full of a whopping 21 grams of chicken protein.  Meat Chips is a seasoned gluten-free tortilla chip made with real white chicken meat, ground corn, natural seasonings and that’s it. They are currently available in four different flavors: nacho, salsa, pepper, and ranch. With 21 grams of protein per snack size grab bag, they pack a protein punch with a crunch. Find out more information at www.meatchips.com

My Thoughts

It's summer and that means cookout time and no cookout or barbecue is a complete without chips and dip. You need a tasty chip to keep everyone happy. Look no further than Meat Chips. They offer a wide range of flavors that are packed with the protein you need to live an active lifestyle.  You still get all the great taste you crave, but you also get 21 grams on chicken protein.  The different varieties available include:

Nacho
Salsa
Pepper
Ranch

Beanfields  brings you a fun way to eat healthier without giving up the things you love. They offer a variety of Tortilla chips that are free from GMOs and gluten. Each bag is made using wholesome ingredients
that compliment muscle growth and sustainability.  The bags are available in both full size and snack size.

We got to try out all these chips, and we loved them!  Each of the chips are packed with tons of flavor. They don't taste like cardboard. You don't even need to add salsa or condiments. They are tasty all on their own. The chips are crispy and delicious.

New: Pringles Holiday Flavors

**This product was received for free in exchange for an honest review.**

Why Holiday Pringles?
Pringles is offering two limited edition holiday flavors – Cinnamon & Sugar and Pecan Pie – available nationwide in early November.

Following the 2012 limited edition flavors, this year Pringles will be bringing back the Cinnamon & Sugar variety and introducing new Pecan Pie – two flavors that are sure to be a deliciously fun addition to any occasion. According to a recent survey commissioned by Pringles, participants noted that food takes on an added importance during the holidays. Other findings include:
·         25% of respondents 18-24 would prefer to outsource the cooking and baking responsibilities during the holidays, making Pringles holiday flavors a perfect bake-free option.
·         Putting up outdoor decorations is the least favorite holiday tradition. 43% of people said they would outsource this responsibility if given the chance.
·         44% of people most often sign up for bringing dessert to a potluck dinner, while 18% most often sign up for appetizers.
·         Nearly a third of respondents said they would rather be known as the worst gift-giver, sloppiest holiday party guest or last-minute shopper than be considered a bad cook/baker.

Our Thoughts:
Not sure if these flavors are going to curb your holiday munchies? Well, just give them a try. The saying with these limited time chips are the same, "Once you pop, you just can't stop!"
I was iffy with trying these, but decided to branch out and give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised.
They really do taste like they say! Pecan pie really tastes like a pie, only thing missing is cutting that slice still warm with ice cream on top. The cinnamon and sugar reminds me of a tortilla fried and topped generously!
Hurry and go get these before they disappear! I am impressed with these, and will be purchasing them next holiday season for sure!

Snikiddy Snacks Review & Giveaway

***Product was received for free in exchange for an honest review.***

Snikiddy snacks are made from non-GMO ingredients, are certified gluten and wheat free, and do not contain any artificial colors, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, hydrogenated oils or MSG.  The All-Natural Cheese Puffs and All-Natural Baked Fries contain half the fat of regular potato chips and Eat Your Vegetables have a full serving of vegetables in every ounce! Snikiddy pairs nutrition with great taste to deliver real, delicious foods the whole family can enjoy and feel good about.

The Name
Where did the name come from? Snikiddy® is a shortened (and let’s face it, easier to say) form of the word persnickety, which means choosy or picky. Growing up, Janet (Mary’s mom) and her siblings were known around school as the Snikiddy kids (a badge they wore proudly) because they always ate healthy lunches. Their mom (Grandma), ahead of her time with her passion for good health, would pack their lunch boxes full of locally grown produce and very simple foods. A teacher once referred to them as being persnickety and the kids’ version of the word (snikiddy) stuck.

Our Thoughts
I have to be honest here, these are my favorite natural chip/snack that I have ever tried. I have tried quite a few, but these are packed with flavor and a wide variety of choices to choose from. Snikiddy doesn't give you just one type of chip, you get a variety so it keeps things interesting. The Puffs were a definite hit and the #1 favorite of both my children and the neighbor's kids too!
My favorite textured choice were Eat Your Vegetable line, I loved how it mimicked a Doritos chip, you could easily eat them with dips or just plain. The Sea Salt & Lime and the Jalapeno Ranch were favorites for my husband! My kids liked the plain Sea Salt and I liked the Sour Cream. I was surprised by the Jalapeno Ranch, it tasted just as good as any other "normal" brand of chip. The flavor was astounding. I can't quite stress how well the flavors were spot on. It wasn't a "plain chip" and then you had a hint of flavor, this was full on flavor, and it tasted great.
Ok, my favorite favorite were the Fries! Bold Buffalo for my husband and I, that bag did not last long at all! The kids loved the cheddar (surprise!). I also really liked the Barbeque, however I did not think it tasted like a regular Barbeque chip, it did have it's own sweet/bbq-ish type of flavor and it was awesome.
So, on top of all the different chips, flavors and what not, you still have the added main benefit of it being completely healthy!!! There are not any issues if my kids ask for a snack, "sure, grab the chips" and I know it's healthy and they'll love them!
Highly, highly recommend this brand!! Check them out for yourself here:

CrispRoot Cassava Chips Review

***Product was received for free in exchange for an honest review.***

Crisproot Chips ™ are made from the roots of the Cassava shrub (manihoc esculenta) that is native to South America but is cultivated all over Asia, South America, and Africa.

Cassava (also known as tapioca, manioc and yuca) grows in arid conditions all year round, and needs very little water for cultivation. This makes it the perfect drought-tolerant crop the world over, especially in sub-Saharan regions of Africa and rocky, mountainous landscapes in South America.

Cassava root is the primary energy source for 800 million people all over the planet, and there are wonderful efforts going on right now to teach even more communities how to grow and harvest cassava.

Our Thoughts

I am blown away by these cassava chips, truly. I cannot think of any substitute for potato chips that mimics the look, size, crunch, texture than these! The texture reminds me of the kettle chips, a bit harder than regular chips but they are oh-so-good!

The flavors were spot on. I fell in love with the Thai Ginger, that chip could go with so many dinners, lunch and sandwich mixtures it is unreal. Such a delicious flavor, I could snack on those forever. By far my favorite is the BBQ, I have a soft spot for anything BBQ as I'm originally from Kansas City. These were spot on with flavor. They went great with both burgers and tuna alike!

My children were not too fond of the Ginger or BBQ, however they don't like anything that has too much flavor so they stuck with the Original and Sea Salt and lets just say, those chips didn't last long! Their favorite snack is tuna and chips and these fit the bill!

I would highly recommend these chips as an alternative to potato chips if you're wanting a much healthier snack. Did I mention they're gluten-free? Always a plus!  It's amazing how this:
