About the Author

Elena is an artist and book designer living in Houston, Texas. When she is not designing books for other authors, she likes to illustrate and write stories. Her goal is to write and illustrate books that can open the hearts and minds of children and parents alike. Her previous work includes the design and illustration of the book Zen Moments by Venerable Master Miao Tsan.





My Thoughts

Thank you, Me is an adorable book that teaches children to appreciate the miracle of their bodies. Using vivid and colorful illustrations, you go through each part of the body, expressing gratitude for the unique gift it gives. You thank the eyes for your sight and your ears for the beautiful things  you hear. But it goes beyond just that. This book teaches children to be grateful for themselves and how special they are, and to appreciate all the beautiful parts that make them who they are. It teaches them how perfect they are inside and out, and helps them to appreciate the miracle of their own being.

To go along with the book, there is also an accompanying journal. This journal is designed to teach kids the importance of gratitude. This gives them the stepping stones they'll need grow up with a loving and grateful heart.   The journal has large lines that are easy for young children to write in, and it gives them an outlet to express themselves in a positive way. This is a wonderful set that fill give  children the inspiration and confidence they need from an early age, which will help them succeed later in life.

My Thoughts

We already have a whole collection of books from I See Me, and the Birthday Book was a great addition to our collection.  This book is just adorable, and creating it is super easy. You simply answer a few questions in order to create your personalization. The book includes their name and  photo. You can even add a dedication in the front.  Once you order, it only takes about a week for your customized book to arrive.

This particular story takes kids on a magical birthday adventure all laid out on lovely, glossy pages. They will see themselves fly all over the town on a big purple bird. They stop at places in their hometown, and then go all the way to the moon. My daughter loved seeing her face on all the different pages in the silly birthday hat. It's a fun book to read all year long, not just on their birthdays.

My Thoughts 

My children were thrilled with the new Kohl's Cares  selections. Clifford is one of our favorite shows, so we excited to see them featured for the fall series. We received two plush characters including Clifford & Cleo. Both of the toys are toddler safe with no small pieces or button eyes.  To go along with each of the stuffed animals, we also got a beautiful hard back picture book filled with vivid illustrations and fun stories! In one, Clifford and his friends get to visit the beach, and in the other, kids will learn their ABCs and words associated with each letter.  They are the perfect stories to read just before bedtime. 

This time around, we got the added bonus of a Crayola Zoo Adventure Creativity Kit. It comes with crayons, a doodle pad, a coloring book and more. This makes for hours of fun, and is a great way to get kids ready for the new school year.

My Thoughts

This was such a cute book. It starts out when Clifford was a tiny little puppy. Clifford was a little scared to see the doctor and get his shots, but the doctor made him feel at ease. Her biggest concern was that Clifford was a little too small, so you can  imagine her surprise when he came back the next year and didn't fit in her office! She had to bring him to a truck stop just to measure him. But through it all, the doctor still made Clifford feel safe and secure. This adorable story is fun to read, is easy for young children to follow along, and helps kids learn that the doctor isn't that scary after all.

My Thoughts

I have always taught my children to believe in the magic of fairies, and this delightful gift set truly brings that magic to life. It comes with a beautifully illustrated book entitled: Treehouse Fairies of Merrywood by Carol Hoops & Kathy Thaggard. Inside is more than one simple story. There are actually fourteen different chapters to discover featuring princesses, both good and mischievous fairies, adorable animals, and so much more. Every night you can read your children another section weaved with fairy dust. My children loved all the stories and the bright and colorful illustration by Shannon M. Valentine. 

In addition to the book, you also receive an actual fairy house. This wooden house has a little door that really opens and lots of room for creativity. The back panel is open so you can decorate it inside and out. When it's completed, you can keep it inside or place it outdoors for your resident fairies to move in. My daughter started decorating with some heart-shaped glitter and we also plan to leave a few crystals inside since fairies love things that sparkle.
