My Thoughts

These books are great. When I, as an adult, learn things, that is a huge bonus lol. My son likes all of these subjects, but he really got into the Cars! Trucks! Trains! one. The books are very similar in their format so I will discuss this one first. Number one, there are a lot of stickers! This book is definitely not wimpy on the stickers. There are all sorts of different activities your child can do. My child is only four so there was definitely a lot of vocabulary to explain to him, but he loves to ask, "What is that?" When you peel the stickers, there are facts underneath each of them. There are mazes, create your own flight formation pages, build your own train, all sorts of scenes to build for yourself. There are boat races, constructions zones, airport landing, etc. These books are very interactive, and customizable. My son can really make this book his own. I also like that unlike some activity books where they are done with them in a half an hour, this book is chock full of activities to keep your child busy for a few different sessions of play or for a very long time. They even have some more unusual vehicles as well like horse and buggy, zambonis, and ice cream trucks. All the different types of vehicles that kids love and are interested in, which is pretty much all of them.

The Oceans and Space books are similar formats with different activities and build a scenes for each of their topics. For the Space book there are scenes like Moon Walks. Mission to Mars, Stargazers, etc. In the Oceans book there is coral reefs, tide pools, shipwreck, etc. All of these books lead to hours of fun and you will not regret getting these books for your child for a long trip or any time really.

Adrift Gifts - A Suscription Box From the Sea

I live only a few blocks  from bay, and it's only a ten minute drive from my house to the ocean. I love living so close to the water and can't imagine it being any other way.  There are always so many amazing treasures to be discovered. Since not everyone has the luxury of walking to the beach each day, Adrift Gifts is bringing the beach to you! Every month, Adrift Gifts finds  another seaside location and shares some of its magic with you.

For September, Adrift Gifts sailed off to Florida and they certainly found some amazing items. From a trendy bag to exotic shells, there was a little of everything inside. All of these gifts from the sea arrived beautifully packaged in a box about the size of a shoe box.  Here's a little about each of the items I received.

This is an adorable notepad that reads "The Beach Is My Happy Place".  It has a picture of a turtle and the lines you write on look like waves which is pretty unique.

Bring a piece of the beach home with you with this bag of sand from Venice, FL.

 If you have something you want to say, try sending it out in this message in a bottle.

 This beautiful starfish comes with a canvas bag with an anchor design.

This is a gorgeous jumbo-size sand dollar. I have found a few of these on my beach, but never a whole one and never one this big!

This little bag with a map of Florida is the perfect way to store all your seaside treasures or to carry around for a night on the town.

This is my favorite piece from this month's box. I'm pretty sure it's coral, but it also looks like a batch of shells. Either way, it's a truly stunning piece and a wonderful way to bring the majesty of the ocean home with you.

Even though I have my own beach, I love getting a chance to see what other seaside towns have to offer. Our Thoughts:

How incredibly awesome is this? A book with so many species of mammals and fish! I am a huge lover of the ocean and this book is right at the top of my list of cool books for kids! Fold out pages with pictures of fish and whales, etc. I think I loved reading this book more than my son did! 

The story telling is amazing! I love that these are things that actually happened and not just a big "fish tale." So many many things to say about this book, but yet I don't want to give too much away. You will love this book and so will your children or grandchildren! The fold outs have to be my favorite! 

I can't say enough about this book, seriously. I feel like I'm repeating myself. The facts, and colors are sure to keep any child's attention. You could take an hour or two hours easily going over and over with a fine tooth comb and just diving into this book deeper. A great starting point for those who want to learn more about the ocean and it's inhabitants!!!!
