Each month, for less than $30, parents can open up a colorful, turn-key, fun, creative and educational craft experience for their children ages 3-9.  The beautifully-packaged craft kits arrive with everything you need – just open and enjoy.  A story and easy to follow video is also included.  It’s the perfect gift for siblings to enjoy with each other, an amazing gift from the grandparents, and of course for parents and family friends to share and enjoy.

We Craft Box is has earned a slew of prestigious consumer awards for its thoughtfully designed, affordably priced, high quality and completely fun craft box kits.

Founded by mompreneur Betsy Wild after the arrival of her newest baby (a son!) she realized there was a real need for creative, easily accessible craft experiences which would encourage self expression and a chance to bond with a loved family member or friend.  Her training as a fine artist and illustrator and prior experience as a creative director means that each box is extraordinarily well produced, highest quality and educational as well as fun!

My Thoughts

Amazing... I mean, just, amazing. These boxes are so adorable. My son and I had so much fun. I love that there are supplies to make two of everything. I do not know if that is a standard thing with every box, but it seems to be a pattern. These items are made with high quality materials, and make some beautiful keepsakes. We made pinecone turkeys, bead corn cobs, turkey crowns, glitter water photo frames and a family tree. The decorations were detailed, with bright large pictures for the different steps. All of the supplies you need are in the box. I believe the only thing I had to get up and get was scissors. It also came with the most beautiful set of crayons.

We even had extra supplies in most cases so we could make another or repair them if need be. My son loved the magic puffs that we made the turkeys with. These boxes have so much thought and creativity put into them. You can do the month to month plan or prepay for 3, 6, or 12 months to save money. Each box is themed as well. If you do not want to sign up for the monthly option they have some single boxes you can buy as well. They have a Hippo Party Kit, and face painting sets as well. This is definitely every mom should check out.

Paint Your Own Pottery at Home Kits

Check out the super cute new kits from Pottery Awesomeness! These are the perfect project for kids and families to enjoy together. With themed-subscription boxes, like Halloween, Sweet Tooth, Sports Fanatic and more, kids will be excited to receive these boxes that come with everything they need to create their masterpiece! Each box includes three cute figurines, acrylic paint, paint brushes, a glossy sealer and an instruction card with QR codes that will direct painters to painting tutorials and instructions. For every kit purchased, Pottery Awesomeness donates a painting kit to sick children in hospitals. They work directly with the lead art therapist at each hospital to determine what supplies are needed.

My Thoughts

I loved these! My kids thought they were amazing. We love doing crafts like this. Perfect gift for grandparents or parents alike. It included a good color selection. You can also add your own acrylic colors if you want more, or mix the colors to make your own. I learned how to make brown doing this project lol. It didn’t look like a lot of paint, but it was more than enough. This kit is of good quality and a great value. It also comes with directions, and a glaze to seal them with when you are done. This is one of those wonderful zen like projects where I can turn off my brain and relax. it is like mediation for me. I am actually going to put these up with the Halloween decorations and save them for next year as well.

The only fault I have with it is that the brushes are tiny. For the pumpkin I used the larger one that they have you for the glaze and went and got a second one from my own collection to apply the glaze with. The kids helped me with the pumpkin. There are tons of boxes to choose. They have standard packages where you can order one box, monthly subscriptions, and party packs. If you wanted to have a home pottery painting party for a birthday, these are perfect. They are completely customizable as well. You can do simple packs or pick out all decorations and themes. They are a party in a box. Super cute.

Squirrel King: Build with stickers!

Make kids nuts for knowledge and engineering with imaginative squirrel kits that are sure to ignite their own genius through fun
With knowledge comes power. To help children stay ahead in today’s knowledge-driven world, we need to stimulate and engage their brains beyond the classroom.  Now parents can make learning outside of the classroom fun and exciting - without their kids even realizing how much they are learning!

The fun, unique and ingenious Squirrel King kits (http://www.squirrelking.org/) are a swirl of intellect, engineering and creativity delivered with a hands-on approach that inspires a thirst for knowledge.  Kids build something really cool to play with that also stimulates their minds!

Designed for ages 8 and up, the brand new Build with Stickers kits (http://www.squirrelking.org/build-with-stickers/) combine two things kids love — stickers and building.  Each colorful kit includes novel stickering techniques — no glue involved — and all the materials for children to build, create and explore, making awesome toys in the process.  Bonus stickers are included to encourage adding personal touches of fun.

With Build with Stickers kits, STEM (science, technology, education and math) principles are explored in an age-appropriate manner.   Build our race car and learn about axels with Project: Speed Racer.  The physics of stability is explored in Project: Sun Lounge.  And while constructing  garden tools with Project: Green Thumb, kids see leverage in action. All this fun comes with an educational bonus box that spotlights the engineering, physics and math concepts encountered while building with stickers!

Create an avatar for your Build With Sticker projects with the original Squirrel King Craft kits.  Crack open the ever-popular and award-winning Squirrel King Craft kit, which comes in a 100% recycled molded-pulp acorn with all the materials needed to construct three colorful and cheeky squirrels.  This kit encourages both creativity and the values of reusing (the instructions turn into a fast-paced, squirrel match game) and recycling (plant the envelope holding the googly eyes, paper ears, arms and legs and grow wildflowers)!
Squirrel King Craft and Build with Stickers kits are great for a fun afternoon of kids building with their brains and your hands! Plus the festive packaging makes for excellent stocking stuffers and birthday gifts. The new Build with Stickers kits are available on the Squirrel King Craft website and at select retail stores, priced from $5.99 to $7.99. The original Squirrel King Craft kit is also available on the website and in over 200 stores across the country, and in a range of choices for $9.99 to $69.99.

Finally, in honor of one of the most treasured kid holidays, check out the Squirrel King’s take on Halloween!

My Thoughts
This was a really neat concept. I loved the nut that the project came in, and best of all, it was biodegradable and gave ideas on how to use the nut for other things besides an art project. Such as, you could plant it into the ground with a plant.

As for the crafts themselves that came with it. I found them to be simple and easy for my daughter to understand. I liked that there was no right way to build the craft and she could put her own unique spin on it. It easily came apart and she could remake it again.

I liked the stickers which took away the need for glue. All she needed were the contents in the box or nut, and her imagination. After she build what she wanted, it stayed together well, allowing her to be able to play with the creation.

As a mom, I give this craft two thumbs up for the concept, creativity, and a child being able to do it without a lot of help from parent, so they could really build their self esteem in completing something.
