Antiques dealer Jean White (Sally Lindsay, Mount Pleasant) is nearly bankrupt after her husband’s sudden death, and so she heads to their one last asset: a cottage in antiques hub Sainte Victoire, France. There, Jean begins investigating his death, aided by sympathetic taxi driver Dom (Steve Edge). She soon finds the colorful locals have a treasure trove of other mysteries for her to assess, too.
My Thoughts
If there are two things I love, its mysteries and antiques, and Madame Blanc Mysteries gives me both. The series centers around a woman named Jean who finds herself desperate when her husband dies suddenly, leaving her shackled with debt and a failing antique shop. Desperate for answers, she starts investing her husband's death which leads her into a lot of dangerous situations. This first season includes six episodes and some bonus footage.
1 - Jean's husband dies in a car accident in France and she learns he was having an affair and might've been involved in theft.
2- Th stolen ring is used as evidence and her husband's mistress makes threats.
3-An 80s themed wedding goes wrong when someone is murdered.
4-An old man dies in a home robbery and valuable art is stolen.
5 - A priest is stabbed after a lecture of sacred relics.
6 - Jean think she found love under Dom's ex shows up and she might be willing to kill to get Jean out of the way.
This is a great show with a Murder She Write kind of feel. The mysteries are excited but aren't as graphic or violent as other shows, and there's also a good bit of humor. I'm excited to see where they take it in the next season. If you'd like to grab a copy of his fantastic DVD for yourself, you can find it online at Acord Media or on Amazon.
