UMC Original romantic drama STUCK WITH YOU Season 1
AMC Networks’ UMC features the DVD debut of STUCK WITH YOU on June 23, 2020. From writer/director Patricia Cuffie-Jones, this romantic dramedy stars Tammy Townsend (Love Is_, K.C. Undercover) and Timon Kyle Durett (Queen Sugar, Single Ladies) as an unhappy married celebrity couple that struggles with being in the spotlight and the face of #relationshipgoals, while living two separate lives behind closed doors. Now on a DVD set ($16.96, Amazon.com), Stuck With You previously premiered on UMC, the first and leading streaming service for Black film and television from AMC Networks, in February 2020.
At first glance, Candace and Luvell seemed like the perfect story storybook couple. The marriage of the former R&B princess and Hollywood’s leading man was envied by all, especially after the release of their hit tell-all relationship book. But while their careers were being catapulted to new heights overnight, their model marriage was falling apart. Ultimately, they agree that the best way to protect their brand and status as the “it” couple is to hold off on a divorce and live separate lives…while under one roof.
AJ Johnson (Baby Boy), Jessica Obilom (Trafficked), Terrence Green (Step Up: High Water), Tiffany Black (When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story), former Danity Kane member D. Woods, and R&B singer Shanice also star in the new series.
Prior to Stuck With You, Patricia Cuffie-Jones created, wrote and directed several film projects that are currently available to stream on UMC including Love the One You’re With starring RonReaco Lee, D.B. Woodside and Nadine Ellis, Addicted to You starring Letoya Luckett, Brely Evans, and Thomas Q. Jones, You Can’t Hurry Love starring Essence Atkins, Victoria Rowell, and Richarad Brooks, as well as the 2018 opioid addiction mini-series Jaqueline and Jilly.
My Thoughts
Stuck with You is a series about a famous super couple. They seem to have everything going for them, and even wrote a book on relationships, but its all a sham. They actually are unhappily married, but instead of blowing their cover, they decide to date other people on the side. This first season includes six episodes:
Lemons and Oranges - A podcast host challenges the super couple about the reality of their relationship.
Beware of the Ex - Candace's ex is still interested, Mora has her sights set of someone new, and Quasir isn't sure how to handle Katrina's big reveal.
If Only For a Night - Candace and Luvell plan a night on the town. Mora's date is a disaster. Quasir and Katrina get some news.
With These Vows - Candace wants wants to keep things simple. Mora wants to get to the bottom of things.
Convenience of Comfort - Bachelor parties lead to wild fun and some secrets being revealed.
No Regrets - Candace and Luvell face some hard truths. Katrina's secret is revealed.
This is a great series loaded with laughs, but which also touches on some real relationship issues. I'm excited to see what happens in season 2. If you want to grab a copy of this amazing series on DVD, it is available in stores nationwide or online at Amazon.
