An Inside Look At How NOT To Get A Movie Made
Today's Hollywood is hilariously lampooned in The Big Picture, a behind the scenes look at the costs of making it in the hip and happening world of show business. Kevin Bacon stars as Nick Chapman, a naïve kid from Ohio who wins the Best Student Film award form the prestigious National Film Institute. Suddenly hot, Nick jumps out of the ivory tower headlong into the Hollywood fast lane, where he's seduced by manic agents, power happy producers, and the irresistibly quirky Jennifer Jason Leigh. Giving in to temptation, Nick sells out, sacrificing his friends, his true love and his self-respect. But when his career comes to a screeching halt, his dream turns into a comic nightmare and he discovers beneath the Hollywood tinsel lies a system that breaks 'em as fast as it make 'em.

In the underbelly of lower Manhattan, Frannie Avery (Ryan), a reserved English professor, becomes obsessed after seeing more than she should of an impassioned couple. After the young woman turns up dead, Frannie is questioned by a homicide detective (Ruffalo) who draws her into a liberating but disturbing erotic encounter. My Thoughts

The 6 Degrees Collection may be my favorite releases from Millcreek thus far. I am a HUGE fan of Kevin Bacon, like any self-respecting child of the eighties and nineteens. I love every movie he ever made. This DVD set managed to pick six of his best titles. They include:
The Big Picture - A young kid makes a hit movie and finds himself the center of attention in Hollywood.
Flatliners - A group of medical students do tests on near death experiences with terrifying results.
Hollow Man - A scientist learns the secret of invisibility and tests it on himself.
Trapped - A young girl is kidnapped and her family held hostage for ransom.
In the Cut - A professor gets obsessed with watching another couple, and is called in for questioning when one of them are murdered.
Where the Truth Lies - A journalist looks into a cold case that lead to the break up of a famous comedy team.
This is such a great collection. If you know anyone who loves Kevin Bacon or eighties films, this would make a great gift. Each one of these films is classic, and  you are getting hours of entertainment with each film.  Grab one for yourself at Millcreek Entertainment for only $14.98.
