Smart but self-destructive lawyer Cleaver Greene faces new challenges to his career and his personal life as the hit Australian comedy-drama returns. Forced out of hiding, Edgar stirs up a huge corruption scandal involving most of the politicians in Sydney and vows revenge on Cleaver.

As Cleaver runs for his life, his best friend’s wife, Scarlet (Danielle Cormack, Wentworth), tries to explain her new relationship to her kids, and former prostitute turned celebrity writer Melissa (Adrienne Pickering, The Reef) returns to Australia in disgrace, harboring a serious addiction. Later, the sudden death of a colleague shocks Cleaver and his friends. My Thoughts

Rake is an exciting  Australian series from Acorn Media. It centers around defense attorney Richard Roxburgh. He prides himself on defending bad guys: really bad guys, including terrorists and murderers!  His personal life is messy too. He's constantly in debt and always after the wrong women. This third season had eight awesome episodes.

1- After a near death experience in a balloon, Rake finds himself with an old mentor who has turned to a life of crime

2- Cleaver is working undercover as a writer, but his cover gets blown and unwelcome company arrives. Scarlet's kids aren't happy about her new relationship.

3- Cleaver has to return to the city, and his ex-wife lends a helping hand.

4 - Thompson's charges are dropped, but he drags Cleaver into a drug ring.  Tragedy strikes.

5 -  Everyone is trying to deal with a sudden death. Nicole wants to team up with Cleaver again.

6- David is facing murder charges, and Barney is upset that Cleaver is defending him. 

7- David is acquitted. Cleaver tries to help Barney. When Cleaver makes a stupid remark to a journalist, he gets disbarred.

8 - Cleaver is trying to win Wendy back, and he announces that he's running for senate. 

I really enjoyed this show. Cleaver is really a rake, just as the titles implies, but he has me crushing on him just the same! Each episode was packed full of adventure, and I always enjoy seeing the judges in those white wigs.  There is a lot of violence in the series, so make sure the kiddos are asleep before you pop in this disc.
