The ITV British crime drama series Jericho of Scotland Yard returns to DVD on December 27, 2016 from Acorn, an RLJ Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand. The series is set in a fascinating period of Britain’s social history, when London saw an explosion of color, glamour, and shifting attitudes after the Second World War. Amid the turmoil of changing times, Chief Inspector Michael Jericho (Robert Lindsay, My Family, Horatio Hornblower) is a famous Scotland Yard detective investigating high-profile murders in 1950s London. This 2-Disc set features 4 feature-length mysteries ($49.99, AcornOnline.com). Jericho of Scotland Yard made its U.S. premiere in 2006 as part of the PBS Mystery! series.
This stylish noir boasts fantastic guest stars, including Francesca Annis (Agatha Christie’s Partners in Crime), Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), Laurence Fox (Inspector Lewis), Peter Bowles (The Irish R.M.), Claire Bloom (Brideshead Revisited), Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), James Wilby (Gosford Park), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), andDominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!).
Aided by his trusted sergeant, Clive Harvey (David Troughton, Sharpe’s Rifles) and the young and eager-to-please DC John Caldicott (Ciarán McMenamin, The Sinking of the Laconia), Jericho solves London’s most heinous crimes, whether they occur in posh homes or illegal gambling dens. Though brilliant at his job and adored by the public, Jericho hides a dark and painful past and will stop at nothing to find justice.

My Thoughts
A Pair of Ragged Claws- Sir Wellesley is kidnapped and a black singer is killed. Memories of his father's death still haunt Jericho.
The Killing of Johnny Swan - A champion runner and his new bride are found murdered. Rumors of aliens, mobsters and spies make this an interesting case.
To Murder and Create- A scientist and a mailman are both strangled. Can it be related? Jericho is also involved with a lady of ill repute which could get him into trouble.
The Hollow Men - A serial killer attacks of smoggy night with killings could date back to the 20s.
This was such a great series. I enjoy seeing mysteries solved before their was a lot of technology. I also love how true to life the scenery and costumes are. Jericho looks a lot like my grandfather did during this time period. Really hoping the series continues though I hear it has ended. If you'd like to grab a copy of this exciting series, you can find it on Amazon or Acorn Media.
