Valentine's Day Gift Guide: Bring Dash & Dot Home For Your Kids Today

About:

At Wonder Workshop they think kids spend far too much of their days hearing about what they should and shouldn't do.
The toy industry tells them which toys it's okay to play with. Schools measure their success in terms of standardized performance, rather than individual ingenuity. However as parents, we want kids to learn to think for themselves.
Wonder Workshop believes that every child should be empowered to question, think, and create. They want to encourage them to be curious and to find their own joy in learning. Coding enables creativity and agency in this new world. By learning to code, they are becoming shapers of their own world.

Our Thoughts:

For kids ages 5 and beyond Dash & Dot are a wonderful way for kicks today to think on their own and outside the box. Computer coding has become huge and kids everywhere are becoming more tech savvy. Here are a few ways the different age ranges can learn from Dash & Dot:
Ages 5-8: Learn the basics of controlling Dash and the Apps. Enjoy playing music and show friends and family.
Ages 8-12: Introduce more advanced play. You can drag and drop blocks of code to direct Dash & Dot around the house.
Ages 12 and up: You can begin to try building applications for Dash & Dot.

The possibilities are endless!

Dash& Dot come with several accessories. We have enjoyed playing with all of the ones we could, as not all are on Android yet. Basically, our Dash & Dot are remote controlled right now, and not so much in the way of learning code. Yet, we have immensely enjoyed learning and are excited to see what the other apps offer when available on Android.

Xylophone: You can compose, loop and play while driving Dash around! This is so much fun to see the kids really coming to life and creating their own music.

Building Brick Connectors; My son love this one. He can build anything right on top of Dash & Dot! Simply add the connectors and any of your building bricks. Your imagination is the key to building some amazing things for traveling around your home.

Smart Phone Mount: Curious about the view from Dash & Dot's perspective? Attach your cell phone to the mount and your kids will love what is played back!

Bulldozer Bar: Need the toys put in one area? Let Dash help! Attach the Bulldozer Bar and get to work! Kids will love this one because it makes clean up easier and more fun!

All in all we love this product, it's a great investment to teach kids how robots use code. Who knows, your little one may become a programmer when they grow up! Our only disappointment is that there is only one app that allows us to play with Dash & Dot, right now. I understand that Wonder Workshop is working to make more apps available on Android, and I am so excited for those to come out!

This is a great idea for the perfect Valentine's day gift for your little ones this year! Check them out on their social medias too, so you stay in the know!

I'm always amazed how tech savvy my grandkids are in comparison to Grandma. :). They are knowledgable in ways I'm not. I love this post because I know my grandson would have a ball with this. Thanks for the post and pics.
