Protect & Renew with Ocean Potion

Who doesn't remember getting a really bad sunburn as a teen?  Well, it turns out that those burns may have long-term consequences.

A recently released study of data found that found that those who had at least five blistering sunburns when they were 15 to 20 years old had:
·         a 68 percent increased risk for common skin cancers like basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas.
·         an 80 percent increased risk of melanoma by the time they reached middle age.

The results appeared in a publication of the American Association of Cancer Research.   Researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital Channing Lab looked at data from more than 100,000 nurses who participated in the Harvard Nurses' Health study.  Researchers concluded that, "Persons with high host-risk traits, such as red hair color, higher number of moles, and high sunburn susceptibility, should pay more attention to avoid excessive sun exposure, especially early in life.”

Regardless of skin type, the sun causes damage that may lead to skin cancer.  It is important to use sunscreen every day and not just when at the beach or active outdoors.  And consumers don't have to rely on premium priced products.

A new anti-aging line from Ocean Potion offers excellent protection and is available at many drugstores and mass merchants. Ocean Potion Protect & Renew Face SPF 35 reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with patented collagen-boosting peptides and vitamin E that protects against free radicals generated by ultraviolet light.  MSRP $8.99.

For hands and body, Protect & Renew Body SPF45 brightens and evens skin tone with vitamin B3 and hydrating Pentavitin that lasts more than 72 hours. Both offer broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection, and are supple and natural to the touch, which is unusual for high SPF products. MSRP $8.99.  Learn more at oceanpotion.com.

Sun protection at the beach has never been easier.  New technologies make application a breeze, especially for kids who resist toweling off before applying sunscreen. For example, Ocean Potion's new IntelliSeal technology cuts through water to form a layer of broad-spectrum protection.  It won't turn white when sprayed on wet skin, and leaves skin feeling soft, not sticky.

My Thoughts

Summer may be winding down, but that doesn't mean it's time to pack up your sunblock. In the fall, I spend more time outside than ever. I love hiking along the nature trails and taking the kids on hayrides.  The weather might start to cool off, but your skin can still get damaged by the harsh rays of the sun. I don't want to use the same greasy sunscreens I use at the beach, but I still want superior protection. The Protect & Renew line from Ocean Potion was the perfect choice for me.

The Protect & Renew moisturizers come in formulas for both face and body, but they are more than just sunscreen. In addition to providing powerful SPF protection, it's also a non-greasy formula that's actually good for your skin. Packed with vitamin B, it helps to prevent age spots and provides superior moisture protection that lasts for up to 72 hours. It even has a pleasant scent that doesn't smell too much like chemicals.

I tried both the  body and face lotion. Each one offers a smooth formula that glides onto skin, rubbing in evenly and leaving behind no greasy residue.  Each application leaves your skin feeling soft and touchable.  The body lotion offers 45SPF and the face cream 35SPF, which gives you the perfect coverage every time. The face cream is also water resistant. Ocean Potion offers the perfect combination of protection from both the elements and the natural aging process in one package.
