Easter Gift Guide - Teacarina Instruments

The St. Louis School of Music has developed a tea cup that's also a flute. The Teacarina is a great gift idea for the aspiring musician in your family and means learning to play an instrument can cost as little as $18.

They'd make a great Easter basket addition or a fun and unique gift for Mother's Day!

The Teacarina is a true original: a combination teacup and ocarina that lets you play simple tunes between sips of your favorite hot drink. This instrument is a form of an ocarina, a pocket-sized wind instrument with roots in the dawn of history. Each product comes with an instruction booklet. Music is produced by blowing through an air chamber, changing pitch by fingering four holes of various sizes on the side on the cup.

My Thoughts

My husband and I have a collection of instruments from all over the world, but until now we never saw anything like the Teacarina. This unique creation merges two of my favorite things, tea and music, into one fun package because this beautiful teacup is also a Ocarina!

Even as a stand-along tea mug, this cup is lovely. They are polished to a perfect shine and come in a variety of pretty colors. You will definitely enjoy sipping your herbal tea from this mug! But every Teacarina also transforms into a musical instrument that you can actually play. The notes come through crisp and clear. My husband plays some wind instruments so he was able to pick it up pretty easily,  but even beginners will be able to play a few simple tunes. Every Teacarina comes with an instruction manual that shows you exactly where to place your fingers. Learn to play Lightly Row, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and Mary Had a Little Lamb.

If you are looking for a unique gift idea this Easter, the Teacarina would be the perfect choice for any music lover or tea drinker. Ours has definitely earned a place of honor in our musical collection.
