Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Sip Pink for the Cure

With October upon us, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is on everyone’s mind.
Sparkling ICE, the fastest-growing, non-alcoholic beverage brand in the U.S., is on a mission to “Imagine a World without Breast Cancer” – and from October 1-31st Sparkling ICE donates 1¢ per bottle of its Pink Grapefruit Sparkling ICE to help find a cure for Breast Cancer.
Best of all, proceeds go directly back to the community where the product was soldBy working closely with each community, Sparkling ICE allows them to select the charity right in their region that they would most like to offer the donations to (i.e. Susan G. Komen Affiliates, Local/Regional Breast Cancer Research Foundations, etc.)

Sparkling ICE, a beverage of Talking Rain Company, is also a Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Affiliate Promise Partner, the highest tier of recognition awarded to corporations, foundations, and 3rd party fundraising organizations/events that provide exceptional financial or in-kind resources throughout the year to the Komen Puget Sound Affiliate.

My Thoughts

While I love the idea of a low calorie drink, I rarely like the flavor. Most of them taste artificial and leave behind an unpleasant aftertaste.  So I opened my first bottle of Sparkling Ice with a little trepidation.  Surprisingly, these drinks tasted much better than I expected. Each one comes in a tasty fruit flavor with just enough carbonation to make it bubbly. But these aren't your average soft drinks. They taste more like a mixed drink without the alcohol, but you can even add that in if you feel the urge. Just check out the recipe above. While I personally can't handle vodka, the Pink for the Cure Cocktail sounds like a unique way to entertain through Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond.

I received several of their flavors to try out including Lemon Lime, Crisp Apple, Pink Grapefruit, Peach Nectarine, and Raspberry Lemonade. My favorites were the Raspberry Lemonade and the Pink Grapefruit, but the diversity of flavors allowed everyone is  my family to find something they enjoyed. My husband likes the Lemon-Lime and my daughter enjoyed the Crisp Apple. I had given up soda due to the calories and the questionable ingredients, but Sparkling Ice offers a way to enjoy carbonation without worry or calories. Its a wonderful treat and one I plan to indulge in often.
