Holiday Gift Guide - Hotel Transylvania for Nintendo DS

Welcome to Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are -- without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of his best friends -- Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf family, and more -- to celebrate his beloved daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday.  For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem -- but everything could change for the overprotective dad when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.

Featuring a wide variety of locations, puzzles, and boss battles galore, the game creates an imaginative and fun way to interact with the movie characters.

Our Thoughts

Hotel Transylvania for DS brings the exciting movie to life for kids everywhere, right in the palm of their hands. In this game, you have to set out to find the human, Jonathan, who is missing. As you go, you will get to play as a variety of different monsters including vampires, bats, and ghosts. There are eighteen monsters in all, and they are all available to help you search out Jonathan. There are also over 1400 hidden mini games, so there is always something exciting in store. The game is rated E for everyone as far as violence and content, but this game is a little more challenging than most kids games so its more appropriate for kids ten and older. My two older children who are ten and twelve found the different levels challenging, but not frustrating. They loved the massive variety of mini games, and they were especially excited to see all the characters they loved from the film coming to life in their hands.  Hotel Transylvania is a great choice for grade school kids and the perfect gift this holiday season.
