We use the teeth chart. If they brush their teeth 3 times a day and chart it they get to have a piece of candy with supper.

I let my kids pick their own toothbrushes, floss and toothpaste. I buy travel size paste so they use their own and this gives them a sense of freedom (and no arguing at the bathroom sink!)

We used to get the red plaque tablets and if they didn't brush their teeth would be all red. They didn't want to go to school like that so they learned to brush good.

I set up a sticker chart and every time they brush their teeth they get a sticker. If they fill up a week's worth then they get to do something special with mommy and daddy.

We've had many discussions about why they must take care of their teeth. Otherwise such and such could happen (we've given many instances of what others have gone through!). It certainly helps them brush!!

I get my children time to brush their own teeth. They are at the ages where doing things themselves seems like so much fun. I brush their teeth for 2 minutes then hand over the toothbrush and they have so much fun. Both of my kids even enjoy running their own toothbrush under the faucet. Makes them feel so good that they are doing it on their own.

Tried all sorts of different things! I guess the best thing that has worked is to let them pick their own toothbrush out at the store, and toothpaste, too. I end up spending a bit more, but at least if they are happy with it, they seem to use it more!!

Using veggies tales toothbrushes has helped a bit more lately :) My younger ones see me doing it and want to do it to.. so it's different depending on age.
