The legendary Laurie Berkner — crowned "the queen of children's music" by People Magazine — will release her tenth album in late October. Laurie Berkner's Favorite Classic Kids' Songs will be a two-disc set including 51 well-loved, traditional children's songs, plus six "bonus" tracks of favorite Laurie Berkner originals.
Says Laurie, “I grew up with many of these songs, and I’m sure parents and grandparents will remember a lot of them from their own childhoods. I’m excited about sharing these classics with kids who may not have heard them before and also introducing my versions of songs that might already be family favorites. In the true folk tradition, I’ve added some of my own lyrics and my own spin to many of these traditional songs. I’ve kept a folk or rock feel for most of the numbers, with a little reggae thrown in here and there for fun!”
My Thoughts
I have been listening to Laurie Berkner with my kids since she was came out with her music. We love all of her songs. although my kids are now eleven and eight, they still like her songs. And we do sing along together to her songs. I am a stay at home mom, and I have an in home daycare so I get to play this CD set very often.
This two CD disk set is loaded with songs! Disc number has twenty five songs, plus an additional three bonus songs, and disk number two has twenty six songs plus an additional three bonus songs. No matter what your age, young or old, you are sure to enjoy listening Laurie Berkner.
