DIY Easter treat with the NEW Pirate's Booty Carrot Snacks

There’s a new member aboard arr snack family crew! Today, Pirate’s Booty sails out with non-GMO Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks, packed with Vitamin A, and made with sea salt that the Pirate enjoys while sailing the open seas.

Made with real carrots and corn, Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks are baked to create a crispy puff that is not only tasty but also provides an excellent source of Vitamin A. Certified gluten-free, the carrot puffs are a brand-new option in the snack aisle, with 0g of trans fat per serving and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks are making their debut at Natural Products Expo West 2015 at booth #2258 alongside Pirate’s Booty Crunchy Treasures, which are also non-GMO. Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks retail for $3.19

Not only are the Pirate's Booty Snacks a yummy treat, they're the perfect way to fill baskets this Easter.  You can even make a fun DIY Easter Treat for your family or your children's classroom. All you need is a bag of Carrot Snacks, cone shaped snack bags which you can find here, and some green string on twine.  Then, simply fill up the bags with carrot snacks, tie it off with the string, and you have a carrot that no child will complain about eating!

As you can see, these yummy snacks look adorable in our Easter Basket. They are a lot of fun and an affordable treat for classroom parties. My daughter has a child in her class with nut allergies, and happily, Pirate's Booty is nut free and a safe choice. Putting them in these bags was also a simple craft she was able to take part in, even though she's only five.  If you want a last minute Easter gift that is a fun and healthier alternative, just head to your local supermarket and grab a bag of Carrot Snacks.

DVD Review: Lovejoy, Series 5

Based on the novels by Jonathan Gash, Lovejoy, Series 5 arrives on DVD on March 31, 2015 from Acorn, an RLJ Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand. Ian McShane (Deadwood, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) stars as Lovejoy, a rascal of an antiques dealer with a heart of gold. McShane is joined by Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey), Malcolm Tierney (Dalziel and Pascoe), Chris Jury (The Big Game), and Dudley Sutton (The Beiderbecke Connection) in Series 5 of this beloved, humorous whodunit. The BBC1 series aired for six series over the course of eight years in the UK with Series 5 premiering in 1993. The series has also been broadcast on A&E in the U.S. Series 5 guest stars include James Nesbitt (The Hobbit trilogy, The Missing), John Gielgud (Arthur), Colin Salmon (Prime Suspect 2), Pete Postlethwaite (Inception), Caroline Langrishe (Judge John Deed), and Diane Parish (EastEnders). This DVD 4-disc set includes 14 episodes ($49.99, AcornOnline.com). Series 1-5 are also available to stream on Acorn TV, the premier British TV streaming service in North America at www.Acorn.TV.

Lovejoy’s world faces upheaval—and not just from the risky deals made by Ian McShane’s cunning antiques dealer. After a change in Lady Jane’s (Phyllis Logan) circumstances, Lovejoy loses the companionship of one of his most-trusted confidantes. But lovely auctioneer Charlotte Cavendish (Caroline Langrishe) soon becomes the (mostly) unyielding object of his affections.

Tinker (Dudley Sutton) takes on an assistant, Beth (Diane Parish), whose youthful exuberance and flair for the trade breathe new life into the team’s dicey operation. That’s good news for Lovejoy, since he’ll need all the help he can get to withstand the challenges that lie ahead—such as impending eviction, an attempt on his life, and a perilous journey to America.

Street Date: March 31, 2015                                                SRP: $49.99
DVD 4-Disc Set: 14 episodes – Approx. 777 min. – SDH Subtitles
UPC 0-54961-2374-9-4                                              ISBN 978-1-62172-374-5
Contains mild language and partial nudity

 My Thoughts

Lovejoy mixes the world of antiques with the world of crime and this man can spot a shady criminal as easily as he can spot a forgery. He might be a little bit of a rogue, but he also has a good heart. Series 5 includes 14 exciting episodes that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Pig in A Poke- Lovejoy buys a set of James Gillray prints and discovers they are fakes. Meanwhile, Eric finds a stolen statue in the home of one of Lady Jane's friends.

Who's the Fairest of them All - Lady Jane asks Lovejoy to assist in the sale of an antique mirror for a friend.  Later she shocks everyone by telling them Lord Feldsham has declared bankruptcy and she'll be leaving.

A Going Concern - Lovejoy is house-sitting Feldsham Hall until its sold and decides to use it as an auction house. We meet Charolette of Cavandish Auction house and sparks fly between her and Lovejoy

The Kakiemon Tiger - Lovejoy decides to hire a new apprentice in the hopes of off setting his financial issues.

Three Men and a Brittle Lady - Charlie acquires a 18th-century Beau figurine but when he goes to show it off, it seems to have been switched with a phony.

Ducking and Diving - Eric and Tinker get into some trouble with thieves when they try to go on vacation. Meanwhile, Charlotte's ex shows up in town and wants to whisk her away to Paris.

Stone of Destiny - Charlotte is upset when Lovejoy's mistake leads to a valuable cross being stolen. The two of them head to Wales to try to get it back.

Poetic License - Lovejoy goes to an mental hospital  to evaluate some paintings, and while he's there, someone tries to kill him.

The Peking Gun - A widow asks Lovejoy to help sell her husband's antiques. A valuable gun leads Lovejoy to dangerous territory.

Goose Bumps - Lovejoy seeks out an antique dealer believed to be lost at sea in order to pay off his dentist bill.

Swings and Roundabouts - A carnie brings Lovejoy in to check out some old candlesticks so he can retire. When he's accused of theft, Lovejoy tries to clear his name.

Never Judge a Book By Its Cover - Two sisters want to sell their old book collection, but their brother has other plans.

The Price of Fish - Lovejoy goes with Charlotte to her class reunion and is asked to inspect a fish famous for swallowing jewels. He's also given an eviction notice.

The Lost Colony - Lovejoy meets a southern belle who might have run off with a fortune in antiques.  He heads to the states to track her down.

This was such a great series. It has all the mystery without a lot of forensics, making it a fun and entertaining watch. I love the series, but I am going to miss Lady Jane. I don't feel as attached to Charlotte, but perhaps that will chance as the show progresses. You can order Lovejoy Series 5 on DVD for only $49.99 at Acorn Media or on Amazon.

Chuggington Fire Patrol Rescue Day is March 31! - #Giveaway

Sound the alarm! The newest action-packed Chuggington DVD, “Fire Patrol Rescue,” is coming down the tracks on Tuesday, March 31, from Anchor Bay Entertainment – and to celebrate the new release,“Chuggington Fire Patrol Rescue Day, is taking place across the blogosphere!

In honor of Chuggington Fire Patrol Rescue Day,” and to help keep your family and young trainees safe all year-round, here are some important tips from Firechugger Asher and the National Fire Protection Association:

·         Asher says, “Plan ahead!
Create a home escape plan so every member of your family knows what to do and where to go if there’s a fire. Designate a meeting spot, such as a tree or mailbox, that’s a safe distance from the home. And practice your home fire drill both at night and during the day.

·         Asher says, “Stop a fire before it starts!”
Keep matches and lighters out of sight and out of reach from children. Store them up high, preferably in a locked cabinet or drawer. It’s also important to teach kids that lighters and matches are tools for adults only and that they should tell a grown-up if they see these items lying around.

·         Asher says, “Cool it in the kitchen!”
Always keep an eye on the stove while you’re cooking, and use a timer as a reminder that the stove or oven is on. Create a “kid-free zone” around the stove as well as areas where hot food and drinks are prepared. And make sure to keep anything that can catch fire, including oven mitts and towels, away from hot appliances!

·         Asher says, “Sound the alarm! “
Smoke detectors are a key part of a home fire escape plan. Make sure to install smoke detectors on every floor of the home, especially inside and outside bedrooms. Don’t forget to test all smoke alarms at least once a month!

·         Asher says, “Stay low and stay out! “
If, during a fire, you have to escape through smoke, get low, go under the smoke and close the doors behind you as you leave each room. It’s crucial to remind children that, once outside, they should never go back inside for anything, including pets or toys. It’s best to wait to call the fire department until you get outside and are a safe distance away from the fire.

Asher says, “Follow these blazin’ safety tips and you’ll be in control and ready to roll if there’s ever a fire.”

My Thoughts

My Thoughts

This is a tiny little speaker, but don't let it fool you. The sound coming from this speaker was crystal clear. One thing that was neat about this product was you can attach more than one speaker and get even more volume.

The sounds doesn't change much weather you have the speaker open or closed. When it's closed, it's meant to be able to go into your pocket. I used this product on my counter with my phone plugged into it. One thing that would've been nice on this was if it had a longer cord. You've only got about two inches from phone to speaker. So your phone would have to go in the same pocket or area as the speaker. I would've liked to see a longer cord to give the use more flexibility.

All in all, I really liked these speakers. I think they would make great gifts to the music lovers in your life. I think teens would enjoy this compact design in a way to share music with their friends.

My Thoughts

I received a Prayer Puppy poucheez to review. The plush toy is very soft. The opening where you can stuff things such as money, ear buds, or whatever else a child would want to stuff inside is secure. It's a little hard top open and it closes fast, but it's nothing that would hurt a child. The plush material that is on the poucheez pet is also over the clasp.

This comes with a keychain, so it's easy for a child to place on their book bag, belt buckle, etc. My daughter had no problems latching it on or off anything.

The material is well made. I didn't find any off sticking. The quality was as expected. I own other pillow pet items, and this item had the same quality. My daughter loved this item and has already made it a part of her backpack where she loves to hang things.
