Our Thoughts

This toy is awesome! My son is 13 months old and adores every aspect of this adventure course. He had almost just as much fun helping me put it together too.

Generally I can put almost anything together without directions, but I did need the directions for this item just because there were so many colorful parts, and you definitely don't want to put something together incorrectly if your baby is going to be playing with it. Overall it was really self-explanatory, but just double check you've got it all right.

The two yellow circular parts of this are already set up aside from attaching the rotors, mirror and blue plastic piece to make the tube for the balls to go through. This also comes with four little balls (that are not small enough to be a choking hazard, so don't worry!) so my son immediately started playing with this while I was setting it up.

The top safety piece that goes under the fish net was a bit difficult to get it, make sure you move the cloth out of the way to really get the plastic into the slot correctly and once it's in, it'll stay in so don't worry!

It's a toss up between the octopus head and the tube for the balls as to which one my son loves more. The octopus talks to him, which he thinks is fantastic and squeals every time and he will push down on the lever to make the octopus arms fly up and down over and over again. The octopus was really the only thing that needed any screwdriver assistance to finish setting up, but it was still simple enough.

I love that you can detach and rearrange how you set up the three sections (as shown in the pictures above), it makes it a lot of fun and you can move it around from room to room and change the shapes if you don't have a lot of room in there for it!

Summer Fun with Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse - #Giveaway

My Thoughts

The Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse is the perfect way to keep kids entertained and encourage imaginative play.  This adorable little cottage gives children their own personal clubhouse where they can play house, pretend its a fort, or journey wherever else their imagination takes them.

Putting together the Cape Cottage much much easier than I expected. It seemed like there were a lot of pieces when we first opened the box, but they all come together fairly quickly. The only tool we needed to get the job done was a Phillips head screwdriver. Complete assembly took less than twenty minutes, and then we were ready to play.

The Cottage has tons of detail to help make it more authentic. There are two working doors, window shutters that really open and close, a mail slot, and even a spot to hold a flag. There are stickers to add to it that give it more detail, like glass for the windows and a house number. I was a little worried the stickers wouldn't hold up against the elements, but right after we set it up, we had three straight days of heavy wind and rain, and the cottage is none the worse for wear.

The whole structure is very sturdy and well made, yet still very light weight. I've moved it around several times in my backyard, and I can lift it with only one hand, but it doesn't fall apart. My older daughter is five years old and about 45 inches tall, and she can stand inside without stooping, but if she get any taller, she will have to slouch a little. I'd say this toy is perfect for kids anywhere between 2 and 6, depending on their height.

My children just loved the Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse. They spend hours in there, hiding out from the rest of the world. They bring out their toys and just completely go into their own little word. They're safe inside, and it even shades them from the sun.  This is great for me because I can finally get some yard work done without interruptions. This is definitely a must-have for anyone with preschool aged children who likes to spend a lot of time outside.

The toy is sturdy with no small pieces that can break away. The wheels work great on carpet and hard surfaces.  Just press the middle of his back and he takes off! It even works outside on the cement. It encourages coordination and its just a lot of fun. Its also an affordable option great for the holidays or even a baby shower.

My Thoughts

Little Tikes knows how to make toys that last. My youngest son is three and he is tougher on toys than any of my other kids were.  The Little Tikes Dirt Diggers 2-in-1 Front Loader Vehicle can stand up to all he has to throw at it. It's made for rough play and hours of fun. There are no small pieces that detach so it's safe for younger kids. It's a manual toy so there are no batteries required. But kids can push it on all types of terrain including carpet, tiles, and even outdoors in the sand and grass. We live at the shore and look forward to taking it to the beach with us when summer roles around.  This is a fun and sturdy truck that boys of all ages will enjoy! It's also an affordable option!
