My Thoughts
The Wonder Years is a series that both children of the eighties and children of the sixties will appreciate. While it aired in the eighties, it was set in the past, giving the younger generation a taste of what life was like for their parents. The show centered around Kevin Arnold who was portrayed by the adorable Fred Savage and was basically a coming of age tale that spanned six season. We watch Kevin grow up along side the girl next door, Winnie, who of course he falls in love with. His nerdy friend Paul Pfeiffer makes the show even more fun. And, of course, she can't forget his bully older brother.
While primarily this show was comedy, it also touched on a lot of important issues. There were always lessons to be learned as well as laughs to be had. Its always fun watching the young actors grow up along with their characters. You see them go from awkward pre-teens to young men and women. Being able to purchase the full series in one box set is a great deal, and it would make an awesome gift this holiday season.
