This Is Us Season 2

Everyone has a family. And every family has a story. THIS IS US chronicles the Pearson family across the decades: from Jack and Rebecca as young parents in the 1980s to their 37-year-old kids Kevin, Kate and Randall searching for love and fulfillment in the present day. This grounded, life-affirming dramedy reveals how the tiniest events in our lives impact who we become, and how the connections we share with each other can transcend time, distance and even death.

My Thoughts

Season 2 of This Is Us brought us some amazing family moments to share with the Pearson family. It skips around and you see different characters at different times in their lives. Some scenes take place in the 80s or even earlier, while others are set in modern times. One of my favorite episodes this season was The 20s, where we got to see Kevin, Kate and Randall in their younger years. Though there are a lot of heavy episodes, some, like Vegas Baby, are a little on the lighter side. Some other highlights of the season included weddings, anniversaries, and a bout of chicken pox.We also meet a new character called Deja. She is a young girl whose mother is arrested, and Beth and Randall take her in a a foster child. There were tons of tissue-worthy moments too, but I don't want to give away any spoilers. Overall, this season was filled with lost of of amazing moments I'll never forget.

This is such an amazing show. I love the chemistry between the characters, and the unique twist of skipping around through time. In every episode, there are moments I want to laugh and moments that I want to cry. This is a show you watch with your tissues ready.  I also love how it breaks down racial barriers. This is a show that teaches us that its not always blood that makes family, and that families come in many different shades. I'm excited the show was picked up for another year, and can't wait to see what happens next.  If you'd like to grab a copy of Season 2 for yourself, you can find the DVD set in stores now and online at Amazon.
