We’ve all been there. That classic moment when Dad tells a joke, followed by an awkward silence and an eye roll, drawn-out groan, or “Oh, DAD!”
”Fish are probably the most musical of all non-human critters because of their scales.”
”Sign language interpreters have to lean sideways to translate something in italics.”
”After Humpty Dumpty recovered from his fall, he was just a shell of his former self.”
”Supposedly, if you have a dictionary in the house, you’ll never be at a loss for words.”
All that, and many, many more!
My Thoughts
This book is geared toward a dad, and almost any dad because of the way it's set up. The jokes and puns are sorted into sections of the book. Such as music, technology, and science to name a few. So whatever Dad seems to be into, he can find jokes and puns that he will appreciate. The book was easy to navigate and quick to read through. Some of the humor I didn't get and maybe someone else would. This book was mostly filled with puns that would probably be entertaining to Dad as he read through it.
One thing I found odd about the book, and I'm sure there is a reason behind it, is each joke in this book is centered around a cow and using "moo" in the answer. Some of the jokes were quite funny and gave me a giggle and the kids. Some of them were corny, which is to be expected. This book seems to appeal to everyone's sense of humor.
Over all, I think it was a cute book that would make a great fun gift for dad or grandpa. It's a different kind of gift and one Dad can enjoy for more than a few days.
