My Thoughts
This DVD set is a great chance to catch two awesome episodes of Monster High. The first show is Fright On, and this teaches kids all about overcoming intolerance. Originally monsters were segregated in schools according to their race, but now more and more kids and coming to Monster High where everyone is welcome. Two schools, one for vampires and one for werewolves, have shut down, and there are lots of new students on their way to Monster High. Some of the kids are excited and some fear there will be too much competition because vamps and wolves have never gotten along. Soon the two rival groups are ready to fight for the right to rule the school. Now Clawdia and Draculaura must find away to discourage the violence before any damage can be done to their beloved school.
The second show in this DVD is Escape from Skull Shores and this is the Monster High version of King Kong. The ghouls head to the Great Barrier Reef on spring break so they can meet Lagoonia's parents. Their trip is interrupted when they are shipwrecked, and they discover a Kracken who has a thing for Frankie Stein. While trying to escape on a man-made raft they created from their luggage, they are rescued by a "normie" who takes them to strange island where they find themselves in even deeper water.
My daughters range in age from four to thirteen, but they all enjoyed this new DVD edition of Monster High. There are lots of adventures and funny one liners, making this the show perfect for family movie night. However, there are also important lessons, like tolerance and acceptance. It's an all around great film.
One of the things that made watching this DVD extra fun was having a doll to go along with the show. The Monster High Ghoul Sports Toralei Doll is an adorable addition to the family. She's ready for some fun in the field and comes with all the sports attire she needs for a great game of soccer. She comes complete with the ball, a water bottle, a brush, and even a bag to carry it all. Her hair is tied back in a pony tail, making it easier to avoid tangles. As always, the doll is very detailed and her arms and legs are very flexible. You can grab some of these awesome dolls on Amazon for only $19.99.
