Endless Love Screening Party & #Giveaway

This weekend, my family and I celebrated the release of the Endless Love DVD/Blu-ray combo with a fun party! My daughter invited over some of her friends and we had a mother-daughter day to remember. Before I tell you about the party, here is a little info on the movie.

An up-and-coming young cast led by Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike, I Am Number Four) and Gabriella Wilde (Carrie, The Three Musketeers) stars in Endless Love, a romantic story of unstoppable first love. Endless Love comes to Blu-ray Combo Pack including Blu-ray, DVD, & DIGITAL HD with UltraViolet™ as well as On Demand on May 27, 2014, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film will also be available on DIGITAL HD two weeks early on May 13, 2014.

When beautiful Jade (Wilde) meets charismatic David (Pettyfer), her sheltered world of privilege is turned upside down as the pair's instant desire sparks a reckless summer love affair. While Jade leaves behind her inhibitions and innocence as she falls for David, he works to prove himself worthy of her love. But when David's mysterious past and Jade's overprotective father threaten to tear them apart, their romance will be put to the ultimate test.

Now, let me tell you about the party. First off, we received tons of cool party favors including nail polish, hair bows, lip gloss and more. I handed these out to our guests as soon as they arrived. We had a few snacks ready, but girls wanted to get right to their make overs.  So they unloaded the nail polishes and lotions I was able to buy at Target courtesy of Universal and started on a full spa treatment. The girls still had lots of fun painting each others nails and doing their hair while they watched the film.

Little Party Crasher

As far as the movie goes,  Endless Love is your typical forbidden love story. David is the edgy hot guy with a secret in his past and Jade is the innocent girl with no experience with men. Even though they went to high school together, they never really talked. Now when they meet up outside of school, its insta-love.  The normal rich girl/poor boy drama ensues, and of course, her overprotective father isn't happy about it and tries to keep them apart.
While the actors did a great job and there were a few touching moments when Jade talks about the death of her brother, overall, I personally had a hard time getting into this movie. It's just like every other romance with no interesting twists to make it stand out. It was sort of like a modern day Romeo and Juliet in many ways.  I did enjoy it, but not enough to watch it again. My daughter and her friends, on the other hand,  absolutely adored the movie and the sweet romance that unfolded. The story has them all swooning and looking forward to meeting their own first loves.
