Duncan Hines has a new line of Pink and Blue Velvet cake mixes that are a surprisingly easy and the perfect
way to bake up magic moments for the special prince/princesses in your life. The new Pink and Blue Velvet cake mixes are fun and
easy, taking the science out of baking, so Moms and Dads can now bake colorful
birthday/special occasion cakes at home without the hassle of adding food
coloring and gels! Kids will also have a blast baking up cake pops or cakies in
these bright colors.
I've never been very good at baking, but these mixes are really simple. We tried out the Velvet cake mixes in a few different ways. First, we made cupcakes using the blue mix. They were nice and fluffy and tasted great. Despite the pretty colors, you'll find the cakes taste like plain vanilla so everyone will enjoy them.
After the cupcakes we made a pink cake. Actually, my thirteen-year-old daughter made this cake all by herself, so that tells you how easy it really is. We added some Duncan Hines Frosting and sprinkles for effect. Everyone loved it! If you want to get fancy you would always make a layer cake using both the colors!
Another great new product from Duncan Hines are their Salted Caramel brownies. Wow, are these fantastic. They are just like all the other brownie mixes from Duncan Hines as far as ingredients and instructions, except for one small step. There is an added packet of salted caramel that you swirl into the batter right before baking. It makes these brownies the perfect combination of salty and sweet and a total delight for your taste buds.
While our creations aren't restaurant quality, they were fun for us to make and even more enjoyable to eat. My little ones especially loved the fun colors of the Pink and Blue Velvet Cake Mixes. With quick and easy preparations, it's easy to give your kids tasty tastes they will love.
