Crazy for (Zero-Cal!) Coconut!

Cascade Ice recently launched two new zero-calorie sparkling water flavors – Coconut Pineapple and Coconut Mango! The waters are not only zero-cal but are also free of sugar, sodium and gluten. These sparkling waters are a tasty and unique choice for warm weather enjoyment!

With summer just around the corner, it's time to start switching your hot coffees and teas for something cool and refreshing. But don't reach for a soda or margarita just yet! Did you know that one soda contains over 40g of sugar? And a margarita can have up to 600 calories per serving!

Try a Coconut Mango Punch at your next outdoor dinner. Start by pouring 2oz grapefruit juice and 5oz of Cascade Ice Coconut Mango in a chilled glass with ice. Stir gently and garnish with some lemon slices.

Mix up a yummy Coco-Pineapple Chiller. In a glass, muddle 4 maraschino cherries and 1.5oz of club soda. Then fill the glass to the top with Cascade Ice Coconut Pineapple. Stir gently to release the flavors and enjoy!

Now for the adult beverage! Try mixing the Mango Twist by combining the juice of 2 lemon wedges, 1.5 oz of vodka and 4oz of Cascade Ice Coconut Mango in a chilled glass filled with ice. Stir the contents and garnish the cocktail with a lemon twist. To add flare, start with a sugar rim on the glass.

My Thoughts

While I love the idea of a low calorie drink, I rarely like the flavor. Most of them taste artificial and leave behind an unpleasant aftertaste.  So I opened my first bottle of Cascade Ice with a little trepidation.  Surprisingly, these drinks tasted much better than I expected. Each one comes in a tasty fruit flavor with just enough carbonation to make it bubbly. But these aren't your average soft drinks. They taste more like a mixed drink without the alcohol, but you can even add that in if you feel the urge.

I received several of their flavors to try out including Coconut, Coconut Mango, and Pineapple Coconut, all of which are perfect tropical flavors to welcome in the summer.   The diversity of flavors allowed everyone is  my family to find something they enjoyed.  I had given up soda due to the calories and the questionable ingredients, but Cascade Ice offers a way to enjoy carbonation without worry about calories and sugar. It's a wonderful treat and one I plan to indulge in often.
