Protect Your Bed from Germs and Leaks

Whether you're in the midst of potty training or suffering from allergies, having the right mattress protection can make all the difference. Below you'll find a few products I came across on Amazon that can help you sleep a little easier.

Priva Mattress Protector

New parents start out thinking they only need to worry about leaks on their children's beds. I am a mom of four and I can't tell you how many times I've had messes on my own bed. When a little one falls asleep in your bed, you can have diaper blow out. When they have a stomach bug they'll want to be close to you, so your bed is the one that takes the hit if they don't make it to the bathroom.  Even the uncontrollable burst of  breast milk can stain your mattress. And let's not even mention what happens if your water breaks in your bed.... For all these reasons and many more, I always use a mattress protector on my bed. If you're in the market for one, the Prica is a Grade A Choice.

This mattress protector is made from a thin vinyl that you won't even notice under your comforter. It has elastic sidewalls that fit snugly around the edges so it won't pull up. The waterproof material will protect your mattress from anything life has to throw at it. If it gets soiled, all you have to do is toss it in the washer. You can even machine dry it without fear of it falling apart. The quality design makes it perfect for all your needs. It's even available in sizes ranging from twin to king, so its perfect for kids as well as adult beds.

Priva Premium Sheet Protector

The Priva Premium Sheet Protector is something I picked up for my mom. She is the caretaker for her sister who has Down Syndrome. As her sister ages, she is beginning to have major issues with incontinence. What I like about this protector is that is protects the sheets and not just the mattress. My mom is aging as well and it's not easy for her to get up in the middle of the night and change a full set of sheets. If there is an accident, she just has to remove the protector and the sheets beneath stay dry. There's no need to change the whole bed. If the protector becomes soiled, you can toss it in the washer. Bleach can be used if necessary and it's even safe to throw in the washer. This  protector has made all the difference for my mom and aunt and I highly recommend it for anyone with moderate incontinence.

Anti Allergen Bed Bug Proof Breathable Waterproof Combo Pack

If you or a loved one suffers from allergies, this product is a must have. They do more than protect your mattress and prevent the occasional leaks from getting through. They also protect your family from allergins and even bed bugs. The mattress covers come in a wide range of sizes from twin to  California King. This particular set also includes a pillow case. My daughter has major allergies but I noticed a marked improvement since we started using this mattress protector. She barely coughs or sneezes anymore at night. As an added bonus, it's also waterproof which is great since she's only three and we're still working on night time potty training.

Despite how well this protects, it's amazingly comfortable. You hardly notice its there and it's just as cozy as a regular padded comforter. The elastic ends make it easy to slide onto the bed and it stays firmly in place even with a little girl that tends to toss and turn a lot in her sleep.  When it comes time to wash it, it cam be machine washed and dried without diminishing its effective. This is a great product that I highly recommend to anyone who worries about dust and allergens.
