A few weeks ago, Toys“R”Us revealed their “Fabulous 15,” a list representing the best new toys of the 2013 holiday season. One of those items was on our top toy list as well. We have a local zoo and we go there a lot with our kids. My daughter's favorite spot has always been the monkeys. They come right up to the window and only the glass separates us from them. Every time she sees them, my daughter begs us for a monkey to take home. I didn't think such a thing would be possible, but thanks to Toys "R" Us and Hasbro, we were able to get our very own giggly money.
The FurReal Friends My Giggly Monkey is an awesome toy for girls and boys alike. Its about the size of a real monkey and even moves like one. It's a very interactive toy that does lots of activities with your child. You can swing it upside down and it yells out "whee"! If you tickle it, it will laugh. It slurps when it eats. It even falls asleep in your arms if you rock it, and of course there are cute little snoring noises. All together, there are more than one hundred sounds and movements, many of which we are still discovering. The giggly monkey comes with a pretty pink bow in her hair, a changeable diaper, and a banana bottle.
My daughter couldn't be happier with her monkey. She cuddles it and carries it around everywhere. She doesn't often remember to turn it off when she's done with it, but it does seem to go into a power-save sleep if it's left alone for a little while. Battery life is pretty good so far. We've had it going about a week with no need to change the batteries. The fur is soft and cuddly but also easy to wipe off if anything spills on it. It's very well made, like all FurReal Friends products. I have several others we've had for years that are still in working order. The "pet care guide" provides easy to follow instructions on how to use the toy. You should definitely read though before you get started so you get the best interaction from your monkey.
