Our Thoughts

Bryce, my middle son, has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) though our school district as he has needed speech therapy due to a bit of a speech impediment that he has. I thought that this would be a great opportunity to not only get him a little bit of help outside the school program but also see if this would be something to entertain doing during the summer months just so he doesn't fall behind on his forward movement with correcting his speech patterns.

As soon as our information was given to PresenceLearning, I got a phone call from the company. They told me what to expect (a webcam and two headsets with microphones were being sent out) and told me that they'd get Bryce with one of their SLPs as quickly as possible. What's nice about the SLPs is that they can be anywhere in the country and you'll still be able to get your session accomplished!  Our SLP, Mrs. K is based out of California but because we are in a virtual classroom with audio and visual she doesn't have to be located in Wisconsin like we are! We have even had the opportunity to see first hand how the Tech team trouble shoots little hiccups last week. The matching program Bryce and Mrs. K had been using didn't want to work when clicked on. The Tech Mrs. K got in touch with quickly helped resolve the issue and we were on our way.

So far Bryce has had three - 30 minute sessions with Mrs. K. Even without his IEP she's been able to pick up on what word sounds he needs to work on and has been getting him straightened out with those sounds. I love Mrs. K, she's great with Bryce. I'm sure the other SLPs and OTs are just as wonderful!  The Tech team, as I mentioned, work quickly to get things resolved if there is a hiccup. The best part with the whole program is that you get 30 minutes. If you start 5 minutes late or even if you have to stop to work with Tech support, you still get an actual 30 minutes of time working with your therapist! To me that is worth it's weight in gold! You'll never be cut short!

Problems from the very beginning. I was told that if there was ever any problem with a speech therapist we could switch. My daughter was getting upset and not doing well with the first one and when I asked for a different one it was a problem after all. It's been months and nothing. A mistake. We're on our own now. Glad YOU got something from it.
